Very Disappointed and Misled by the App Experience

I recently placed an order through the Extra Crispy Chicken app while I was in Lakemba on Saturday, 10th May 2025. I had a short window to pick up a meal for my family, and the app confirmed my order would be ready at 4:41 PM.

When I arrived at the Lakemba store to collect the order, I was shocked to be told by the staff that my order wasn't ready—in fact, they said they don’t even accept orders through the app and that my money would be refunded. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since the app never displayed any message or warning about this issue.

The staff acknowledged that this is an ongoing problem, and while they were polite and helpful in offering to prepare a new order (which took another 20 minutes), the situation was a complete disaster. I made it clear I wasn’t upset with the staff—they did their best—but the issue lies with how misleading and broken the app is, especially for customers like me who come from a distance and are relying on a working system.

I ended up placing the order again at the store and was advised the app payment will be refunded. But I want to warn others: do not place your orders through the Extra Crispy Chicken app until the company resolves this issue.

If you’re a true chicken lover, Extra Crispy Chicken is an absolute must-try! From the moment you walk in, the warm aroma of freshly fried chicken hits you in the best way. The name doesn’t lie—their chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

The menu offers a great variety, but the standout is definitely their signature crispy fried chicken. Each bite delivers that satisfying crunch, seasoned just right with a blend of spices that keeps you wanting more. Their sides, especially the loaded fries and coleslaw, complement the meal perfectly.

The staff were friendly and the service was quick, even during busy hours. The place is clean, cozy, and has a casual vibe that makes it perfect for a quick lunch or dinner with friends.

Could be a worse chicken shop in Sydney, but it would be hard to find,

Service is slow, even when empty,

Ordered Crispy chicken burger which has two "tenders" inside, which were anything but tender, the chicken was overcooked and dry, coating was nearly rock hard, and that was after getting a replacement due to the fact it was stone cold, hot chips were a mixture of hot and cold, and the mayo inside the burger had an awful taste.

Overall do not recommend, even if you have no where else to go, you're better off finding a servo to eat out of.
