Such a local favourite. There was quite a crowd outside waiting on their order when we arrived 7pm on a Friday night. Had the grilled box, medium lentil tabouli salad and a pineapple fritter. The prawn skewer and fish were seasoned and flavoured beautifully. The chips were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just as you'd want from these delicious accompaniment. Everything else in the box was under seasoned and overcooked. We'd definitely come back for the fish and chips and prawn skewer. The salad was plentiful by lacked dressing. I always need to order a pineapple fritter when I see it on the menu. This one was ok, a little too much sugar coating.

Very good fish & chips, always fresh, the price is right and the portions are enormous. The service is expedient, but this place gets jam-packed so sometimes you will have to wait a bit. The southern fried chicken burger is great, though "fried" is not the right term for this, it's more battered. This burger wants to be eaten immediately though, the chicken gets very soggy, very quickly. The potato scallops are just too thick though, or maybe just a bit undercooked because they always have a bit of chewy potato in the middle which is just...wrong. And I've ordered these on two or three occasions, always to the same result so that's a no from me.

With their abundant trays of freshly prepared salads and their ability to cook fish gently, Fat Fish Annandale have a devout lunch-time following even during a pandemic. Annandale residents are being respectful about accessing the galley-like store. Today’s special was grilled South Coast tuna ($16.50) with golden, crisp chips dusted in chicken salt, and a salad of your choosing. I opted for roasted pumpkin, baby spinach, semi dried tomatoes and creamy feta, and was not disappointed. A generous serve of fish was served lightly caramelised in butter on the grill, and still translucent in the middle - just the way I ordered it.

Such a cute place, with very welcoming staff. The dimsim was different, very much hand made - wasn’t the regular dimsims you get - recommend trying. Calamari was great, perfectly crumbled, and fresh. The fried fish was also very well cooked, and the batter was pretty perfect. The chips, fresh and not oily! Perfectly cooked I very much enjoyed the Caesar salad I got with my meal - the bonus is they mix the salad in a perfect amount of dressing, before supplying it - usually places don’t have enough dressing. Recommend visiting this place, the downfall, not enough seating, and the seating they have is a tad uncomfortable.

3.7/10 The calamari was above average. Good texture, only the crust was rather uninteresting. Chips... Not a fan of the small cut chips, not crispy or soggy, instead chewy? We thought there might have been a saving grace, an angel of the waters; deep-fried fish. However, I guess the delivery time from the sea to Annandale was too long to keep these fish fresh. They tasted somewhat frozen, with a little too much oil trapped in the batter In summation, quantity not quality at an average price, with below average fries. Yours truly, Norman fish reviews 🎣

Myself and a friend eat at Fat Fish once a month. This place is as good as fish and chips get with a modern twist on a traditional fish and chip shop. Fantastic selection, exceptional quality and courteous, helpful service. The fish (both grilled and fried) is tasty and not at all oily. Calamari was soft and fish cakes were amazing. The variety of delicious salads are wonderful. Fat Fish is clean with outdoor seating and a nice vibe. I just cannot understand the negative reviews based on my experience as I rate this place. Simply put its quality.
