The Big Tree House in Balmain is one of those places you walk into once—and then can’t stop coming back. The food is just so good. You can really tell it’s made with care, using top-quality ingredients. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or just a coffee and a treat, everything is done right and tastes amazing.

But what really makes this place special is the people. The staff are seriously lovely—super friendly, genuinely warm, and they really make you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first visit. You can tell they care about their customers and truly appreciate the people who walk through the door. It’s that kind of vibe that makes you want to linger just a little longer.

It’s rare to find a spot where both the food and the service are consistently this good. The Big Tree House nails it on both fronts. If you haven’t been, do yourself a favour and visit. They set the bar very high in Balmain....

Unfortunately my visit turn out to be a shame for the following reason - English breakfast tea does tastes way too light . Hardly can you taste any flavor for tea lover. The request to put extra loose tea leaves made the situation worse . The owner and an Asian ,mid 40’s look lady started gave you attitude, defending that they have put enough. Another customer who came after us got her meal while we were still counting the clock... My partner and I decided to forget it and go . Sooo disappointed! We used to go for breakfast here quite regularly, but after moving suburbs had not been for sometime. We decided to drive in for some Eggs Fundamental this morning, which has always been our fav breakfast dish. Wow! What a disappointment. The Hollandaise sauce was gluggy and tasted like tangy Clag glue. It was one peice of toast and a load of roquette, with a measley slice of packet ham. Really bad food!
