Gaslight Inn — Restaurant in Sydney

Where do I start... I booked the upstairs area for an event and was told for the first time as we were setting up for the night, that it would NOT be a PRIVATE event?? Then why did I go through the effort of booking the space, PAYING $200 deposit fee, hiring a DJ AND organising catering? Just to offer these to the general public? Ben, one of the bar managers was extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE to both myself and my partner right from the beginning till the end. Previously when I paid the $200 deposit fee, I was told that I would get the money back at the end of the night. When I asked Ben and one of the other managers, Daniel, if I could have my money back because that’s what I was told, they both denied this, basically calling me a liar. After many heated arguments I was able to retrieve email proof stating I would get my money back and they were WRONG from the start! I recently hosted my 30th birthday at The Gaslight Inn and it was honestly the most perfect night!! 🙌🏾

Having 150 guests attend, the venue had sufficient space for people to sit either inside with the various nooks or outside on the deck, plenty of room for people to dance and a section for the catering which I was able to bring in externally! 🥪

The bar was fully stocked and had many options for beers, wines, spirits and cocktails were very fairly priced and much cheaper than your usual Sydney venue!! 🍹

Most importantly, the staff were so helpful — the managers (Yam, Tom and Bo) were so pleasant to organise this event with! They had great communication from the moment I made my first enquiry up to the day of the actual event which made it super easy to arrange everything I needed and I couldn’t not be happier with the service of them and their staff on the night!! 👏🏾

I was also able to bring in my own music and they supplied screens, microphones for speeches and accommodates for any needs I had! 💯

I am thrilled to have had my event here and would highly recommend...

This is my fourth event at Gaslight Inn, and every time has been amazing! I've hosted my birthdays and Halloween parties here, and the experience has always been outstanding. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the manager, Yam, is always willing to help and very proactive. I’m genuinely happy with the entire venue. I highly recommend Gaslight Inn for any function—or even just to enjoy a weekend! They offer a great atmosphere, delicious food, and a wonderful vibe!!! The location is 10/10 near to everything around Oxford St. The only issue is they have to close 3 am, and I which could stay a bit longer haha.
