I recently visited Sandoitchi in Darlinghurst, and while the experience was enjoyable overall, there were some aspects that stood out more than others. The service was simple yet efficient. We were greeted cheerfully, guided kindly to our table, and placed our orders online, which streamlined the process. The staff managed food and drink service promptly, though there wasn’t anything particularly memorable about the interaction. The atmosphere was adequate but could use improvement. The lack of music left the space feeling a bit flat, and the room was noticeably warm—bearable, but not ideal for a relaxing meal. We ordered the Pork Katsu Sando and the Wagyu Menchi & Bone Marrow Katsu Sando. The Pork Katsu Sando was satisfying, with light, fluffy bread and perfectly deep-fried katsu. However, the pork itself was slightly fatty, which may not suit everyone’s preference. The Wagyu Menchi & Bone Marrow Katsu Sando was also enjoyable, though the wagyu menchi tasted quite similar to a regular beef patty and didn’t stand out. The sauce, however, added a nice flavor that complemented the sandwich well. We also tried the matcha, which was just okay. The color lacked the vibrant green typically associated with high-quality matcha, and the flavor reflected this. That said, I appreciated the online ordering options, which allowed me to customize my drink with size, honey, or sugar—these options made for a more tailored matcha experience. Overall, Sandoitchi offers solid food and service, but there’s room for improvement in creating a more dynamic atmosphere and refining certain menu items. It’s worth a visit for those looking for a casual bite in Darlinghurst.

Food is great service is great but the place smells very greasy. I recommend ordering it from Ubereats instead especially if you have Uberone subscription as that’s what I usually do and the sandwiches all come delivered just as fresh as having it in the shop and you can enjoy it without having to smell like you just walked out of a greasy kitchen. Prawn katsu sando was amazing, everything paurs together so well, the fluffy and slightly sweet milk break with the thick prawn cutlet and the refreshing yuzu mayo they use that does not overpower the sando’s taste but also help bring some freshness into this slightly greasy dish. Wagyu MB9 sando was cooked to perfection but just wished they had seasoned the beef a little more with salt or some other seasoning though it does taste very good already just as it is. Though, I would not order it again as it was very small and cost $58. Also had the luck to try their seasonal abalone sando at one point which I honestly would not recommend as the fishy taste from abalone was very overpowering and the salmon roe may be uncured judging by the raw fishy taste and it wasnt cheap as well (though I cant recall how much it was) the lotus root chips were very nice and light and crispy so would recommend to add that on as a side for other sandos Strawberry cream sando was just as nice as it looks and if youre a fan of fresh cream then youre in for a treat as there were alot of cream and the cream had an obvious hint of yuzu flavour which made the cream very bearable and nice for a non-cream fan (like me)

Sydney just leveled up the sando game 🍞✨ Tokyo vibes, fluffy shokupan, and fillings that seriously hit. 🥩 Wagyu Steak Sando – $59 200g MB9 full-blood Wagyu, smoky, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. 🔥 Sukiyaki Wagyu Menchi Bone Marrow Katsu – $23 Crispy, juicy Wagyu with bone marrow richness + sukiyaki bread (spicy or classic). 🍤 Prawn Sando – $19 Yuzu mayo, sweet corn & Japanese mustard—fresh and zesty. 🍓 Strawberry Sando – $17 Cloud bread, strawberries & whipped cream = Tokyo dessert goals. 🍗 Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sando – $16.50 Golden crispy chicken, Sando Itchi seasoning, cucumber pickle & spicy sriracha mayo—comfort food turned next level. Drinks that seal the deal 🍹: – Iced Orange Matcha 🍊 – Mörk Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt 🍫 – Japanese Plum x Watermelon x Orange 🍉 The vibes? A cozy hidden dining space that feels like Tokyo in Sydney. Perfect for brunch, dates, or when you just wanna treat yourself. 📍 Sandoitchi shop 3/113-115 Oxford St, Darlinghurst NSW 2010, Australia #sydneyeats #sydneyfoodies #tokyoinsydney #sydneycafe #SydneySandos #wagyusando #friedchickensando #strawberrysando #SydneyBrunch #JapaneseFoodSydney #SydneyFoodScene #EatSydney #japanesecafe #japanesefoodlover #japanesefoodporn #japanesefood #japanesefoodie #japanvlog #sydneycontentcreator #matchalatte #matchagreentea #strawberrymatcha #brunchinsydney #wagyu Follow @our_unpredictable_journey On YouTube Instagram TikTok
