Guzman y Gomez - Chatswood — Restaurant in Sydney

I was in a hurry and really needed a fast vegan restaurant. This is my first time at Guzman and the food itself is similar to Chipotle chain.

I ordered Bowl with their new mushrooms protein , which was chewy and I suspect to satisfy people looking for meaty texture.

The staff recommended guacamole to go with it, seems like a scripted add on, along with making it a meal like McDonald's. The staff quoted it was $1 but came up as $2. The portion is well a small scoop.

The food took about 5-8 mins even though staff probably English as not a native language said it will take 1 min. I think she meant it will be fast, but not 60 seconds, when I asked exactly how long it will take, I was afterall in a hurry.

The food was ready and pick up was claimed with receipt number at counter. You can see the food prep station, will clearly a bit of new people still getting used to the busy ordering time at 1.45pm on a Monday. About 10 people waiting with delivery guys, walk in customers and online orders, as they have an app for ppl to order online. Cashier staff doubling as food prep staff, it was fast pace.

The food was slosh in the bowl, as it was a bit messy, could have been better, but for under $15, it did the job.

Plenty of seating, lovely facing the courtyard and greenery , plenty sitting in the sun. There are indoor seating too.

Might come back when I want causal vegan meal on...

Pretty good, have come here loads of times and tried both breakfast and lunch/dinner.

Fairly consistent, normally order from the app and pick up. There has been a few occasions where it takes a bit of time ordering at the counter. Have generally been pretty happy.

The only issue is there’s something in the spicy sauce that doesn’t agree with my stomach, the spice level is ok, it’s not too bad.

Tonight both me and my partner had upset stomachs after having a mini spicy chicken burrito (did taste like it had a bit more spicy sauce than usual).

Happened before to me on 2 occasions and since then I’ve always ordered mild which solved it. Will keep coming back as the meals and prices have always been pretty good but even though we like spicy foods will be avoiding the spicy option at all costs.

Definitely prefer GYG...

I ordered from Guzman y Gomez on the 07/08/2022. It not only took 1 hour to deliver, but instead of just a long wait, the staff at Guzman y Gomez handed the delivery without checking the authorization from the delivery app.

It is incredulous to me that in 2022, Staff are not checking driver's codes to pick up deliveries. With Sales being driven solely from delivery, how do customers know they are going to receive their food?

This store has always had some sort of issue with deliveries, but now this is the final straw. Every customer of this store, should be wary that this can occur to any order. If you order food from Guzman y Gomez Chatswood, beware... there is a chance you may not see your dinner, lunch...
