Beyond Amazing!!

Flower Child Café absolutely delivered on both flavour and experience! Every dish was crafted with care, beautifully plated, and packed with the perfect balance of textures and flavours. Here’s my breakdown of what we ordered:

🍔 Bacon & Egg Burger – A breakfast staple, but Flower Child takes it up a notch. The soft-folded egg was buttery and delicate, melting effortlessly into the crispy bacon. The caramelised miso onions added a touch of deep, umami sweetness, perfectly balanced by the cheddar cheese and chipotle mayo, which brought a subtle smoky heat. The brioche bun was light, airy, and just firm enough to hold everything together. A solid, satisfying bite every time!

🍞 Hazelnut French Toast – An absolute indulgence! The French brioche was plush, soaking in just the right amount of maple syrup without becoming soggy. The chocolate and hazelnut crumb added a lovely crunch, contrasting with the silkiness of the hazelnut gelato—which was decadently smooth and nutty. The fresh strawberries, banana, and seasonal berries brought brightness and acidity to cut through the richness. A well-balanced, luxurious treat.

🍟 Chips – Sometimes, the simplest things are the hardest to get right, but these fries were flawless. Crisp perfection on the outside with a soft, fluffy interior. Lightly salted and dangerously addictive!

🥤 Blueberry Banana Smoothie – Thick, creamy, and bursting with natural fruit sweetness. The blueberry and banana blended beautifully, creating a drink that was both refreshing and indulgent. Not overly sweet, just naturally delicious.

🧃 Orange Ginger Carrot Juice – The ultimate refresher! The orange brought bright citrusy notes, while the carrot added natural earthiness, and the ginger gave it a warm, slightly spicy kick. A great way to feel rejuvenated and energised!

✨ Service & Atmosphere – Beyond the food, the service was impeccable. The lady who seated us was so, so lovely—genuinely warm and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was bright, airy, and beautifully styled, making it a fantastic place to enjoy a meal.

🌟 Final Verdict: Flower Child Café is a gem! Whether you’re after a hearty burger, a sweet breakfast treat, or something fresh and vibrant, they absolutely nail their flavours. Can’t wait...

We visited Flower Child Chatswood for brunch on Valentine’s Day, and as always, the food was beautifully presented. I really enjoyed the matcha and sesame cake, which was rich and flavorful—definitely a highlight. I appreciated that they offer a smaller portion for $14 instead of the full $27 brunch option.

The king prawn linguine was their signature lunch dish, and I found the portion just right. The sauce was well-balanced and tasty. However, the prosciutto croissant was quite average and not something I’d order again. In the past, I’ve tried their salmon dish and açaí bowl, both of which were more interesting choices.

Overall, I’d rate Flower Child 4.5/5. I’ve been here several times, and the food is consistently well-cooked and well-prepared. The staff are friendly, and if you arrive early (around 11 AM), there’s usually no queue, making it a convenient brunch spot.

The location inside Westfield can be tricky to find if you’re unfamiliar with the area, and the seating is quite intimate, so you can hear conversations from nearby tables. While that’s not a dealbreaker, it does make for a less private dining experience.

One suggestion: I’d love to see some menu innovation. While they offer seasonal items, the core menu hasn’t changed much over the years. For example, their recent piña colada-inspired item doesn’t quite fit for brunch or lunch. A bit more variety would keep things fresh for returning customers like me.

That said, Flower Child still has my repeat business, and I’d recommend it for a solid brunch option...

23/09/22 I would recommend Flower Child for a good brunch/lunch place which is slightly on the more expensive side (although, reasonable considering quality and location).

Out of those ordered • miso cured salmon toast: 8/10, well balanced, unique dish although there were a few lemon seeds that I had to spit out • crispy salmon: 8.5/10, salmon slightly over cooked seeing we asked for medium but in general good profile and textures • lamb bowl: 8.5/10, healthier option with milder, balanced flavour • angus burger: 7/10, fine burger but definitely have had better, wouldn’t recommend over other options though

Customer Service • there were no tables so understandably we had to wait which was no problem, however their ‘waiting area’ had a full rubbish bag sitting there and chairs stacked but not offered to sit at which I would suggest having seeing they said i’m not allowed to leave and be on a waiting list or something similar • we ordered bacon on our burger but was missing which is ok because mistakes happen however when we told the waiter, there was no apology but rather, got a bit flustered and just said well do u want it in the side or cancel it? we cancelled and i asked to double check our bill and he said yea it’s not on it without actually checking? • in general, it was quite busy and seemed understaffed so I understand the ‘rushed’ customer service but these were just things i noticed which may help with improvement.

Nonetheless, I still rated Flower Child relatively high because the food and environment...
