Visited on Saturday, June 28, 2025, for lunch with my partner and our two dogs, after confirming in advance that outdoor seating was available for our party of two plus dogs. (They have two outdoor tables, each with two chairs.) We ordered a cappuccino, a mocha, and two roast pork Bánh mì.

First and foremost, the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and never intrusive. The coffee was also top-notch. The barista clearly took care in preparing it, ensuring the froth was properly textured—unlike many Sydney cafés that simply heat the milk without much attention. Both the cappuccino and mocha were well made and enjoyable.

As for the roast pork Bánh mì, I enjoyed it more than my partner. When we discussed why, it came down to personal preference—he favors simpler flavors, while I appreciated the complexity of this version. That said, I would have liked a spicier option with fresh sliced chilies. The bread was unremarkable—neither stale nor memorable—but served well enough as a vehicle for the flavorful filling. Overall, I found the taste more layered and interesting than what I typically expect from a Bánh mì, and I’d happily order it again. I’m also keen to try some of their other sandwiches, which looked appealing in the counter display.

I also ordered a takeaway cappuccino and was pleased to find the quality just as high—good froth, perfect temperature. I finished it before even making it home.

The only downside, and likely the main reason I won’t be coming more regularly, is the outdoor seating location. Most of my café visits are during dog walks, and while this spot does have outdoor seating, it’s directly beside a busy road. Around noon, the area is in full sun despite the overhang, and there’s noticeable glare, traffic noise, and some exposure to vehicle pollution. I imagine it would be more comfortable during rainy weather. (The indoor seating, which looked clean and pleasant, is a better option if you’re not bringing pets.)

All in all, I’m happy to recommend Halo Halo Willoughby. I’ll likely return for takeaway during walks and would definitely be a regular if they ever moved to a more dog-friendly outdoor setting. As it stands, I plan to be a repeat customer—and I recommend them...

We were a big group - 13 adults and 2 kids and went for Boodle Fight Option 2 ($45/pp). What can I say - they meticulously prepared the boodle right in front of you. Watching it was a delight - mouthwatering array of food spread across the table, layer after layer. The food didn’t disappoint. Spring roll was fresh and crisp. Crispy pata (pork hock) wasn’t dry. Grilled squid was perfect. The pork and chicken bbq skewers had that authentic Filipino taste. Side salads matched the dishes (tomato-onion ensalada, atchara/pickled papaya relish, and pickled cucumbers). We also pre-requested eggplant (tortang talong) and they delivered. They were very generous with the food and we ended up with take away containers.

Of course the visit wouldn’t be complete without trying their halo halo! And it was perfect! I consciously made an effort not to eat too much to make space for halo halo. Ube had the right texture and sweetness , and the leche flan was so rich and creamy.

The place has a really good vibe. Staff were really nice and accommodating. Place was clean, there’s a sink to wash your hands and it has its own toilet. There’s a lot of parking options around too.

P.s. They also had banh mi (pork roll) that really seems tempting. Then I saw they served sisig at another table - curious to try. Definitely...

Very Cozy and home like restaurant, its nice to chillout here after a long day at work, but little did I know they also have a good fusion style menu and they are not just another common cafe. Had an ultimate filipino style breakfast where the potions are just right the taste is also not too overwhelming like the tradiitional version Aaaaaand obviously I tried the notorious Halo Halo, in which the manager said mostly family made ingredients. Everything was there and like I mentioned not too sweet or boring either. All meals were actually finished by my whole family. My Grandmother who is a major critique and loves her foodies actually loved a poke style bowl with salmon n miso. For a brand new restaurant it has a good feel where it's going with its fusion menu, looking forward to...

Tried the halo-halo here and it was absolutely top-tier — beautifully layered, vibrant, and packed with flavour. The ube ice cream was creamy and rich, and the mix of jellies, sweet beans, leche flan, and jackfruit was perfectly balanced over finely shaved ice. You can tell care goes into every bowl — it’s generous and indulgent without being overly sweet. The café itself is cozy with a relaxed vibe. Staff were friendly and welcoming, happy to explain the menu for first-timers. It’s refreshing to find a place that does halo-halo this well on the North Shore! If you’re craving authentic Filipino sweets or just want to cool down with something unique and delicious — definitely worth the stop.
