These legends are currently closed as their original spot in an old car park is being demolished. If you wander around the corner to George St near Horwood Pl, you'll see their new spot is currently being fitted out.
Even though they are closed, I feel compelled to just comment briefly on Homage, as in addition to being quite literally the best coffee in Parra, these are some of the nicest most authentic people I've ever encountered.
I reside in Canberra but work remotely out of Parramatta often. A little over a year ago I discovered Homage Specialty Coffee, and have spent my life since converting every member of my family in Sydney to them.
One time I came in for a few days in a row and was feeling quite out of it on day 3. It was pretty obvious. Elizabeth literally brought my coffee to me and, in true sincerity, asked if I was doing alright as she could tell I was a bit off. The simple act of asking was immensely appreciated and helped quite a bit.
A month or so later my brother in law and his family came by near closing for a quick coffee. His wife was having a rough day and, these legends being who they are, offered her a free selection of pastries for her and the kids as they headed out. When my brother-in-law's wife tells the story to this day she has to hold back tears as the act of generosity meant so much to her in a time of need.
Devastated that Homage is closed right now, but eagerly counting down the days until they re-open, and spread good coffee and good...
Read moreHaving frequented Homage for the past two years, I can confidently say this place has become my choice for top coffee and food.
Coffee: Homage takes coffee seriously. They source their beans from ‘Five Senses’. Whether you prefer an espresso or a cap, the balance of flavours speak to the quality of their beans and the barista’s skill. Every sip feels intentional, with distinct flavor notes that shift depending on the blend they’re featuring.
Food: The food is a highlight. Food is prepared lovingly in-house, and you can tell by the ingredients used and the consistency. When you order say, a chilli scram, it will be consistently good. A standout for me is their chilli scrambled eggs, served with thick-cut bread that is on par with the style of bread you get from places like Germany. The care and effort put into their menu are evident and deeply appreciated.
Service: The customer service here is consistently wonderful. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely seem to care about the experience they’re providing to EVERYONE that walks in. Each visit feels like being welcomed into a friend’s kitchen.
I’ve been coming here whenever I can since moving to the area, and I’m so grateful to have Homage so close to home. Again, they are consistent: whether it’s a cup of coffee or a meal (most of the time, both) I always leave nourished....
Read moreWe initially come for the drinks but the service was exceptional! We had iced matcha, which was smooth and just the right amount of "sweetness", and hot chocolate which was nice and creamy (definately not the cheap tasting chocolate syrup you might get in some places). But the focaccia on display caught our eyes! They seemed to change the "menu" as they were called "focaccia of the day", today we had the mortadella, pesto, olive, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, cheese and many more. They were tasty, light and really delicious. They are rather steep (20$), but it was HUGE and worth the taste (wont be able to come up with the combinations of flavours if were to make it ourself at home). However, the service was the one thing that was really memorable. As we were queing, there was a family infront of us who seemed to be a regular. The child interacted with the owner, and the owner did not let the queue stop their interaction and i can see the sense of community the cafe has built. I also knew that i wont be rushed when getting my order so when inasked what was inside the focaccia, she kindly explained. After our order, the owner (who we bumped into on our way out) told us a heartwarming short story about how the...
