What an amazing surprise. Studying the reviews for days, we were apprehensive about visiting after the footy. Especially as our team lost, we didn't want to the to get worse.
Lone Star was nothing short or outstanding.
The lovely lady who greeted us upon walking in, only took a few minutes to return and take our order. Whilst doing so, we was more than helpful and accommodating to provide an alternatives to the standard sides on platters to ensure we were happy.
Our meals took around 15-20 minutes which is more than reasonable. All serving were massive, and very well priced.
First up was the "Black Angus Brisket Open Sandwich". Wow, this was huge, and loaded with Brisket. Brisket was melt in your mouth, coleslaw perfectly seasoned and just the right amount of mayo, not too strong or stodgy, with a soft tortilla style soft bread. Corn ribs and onion rings were perfect. This was near perfect, 9/10.
Next was the "Spicy Chop House Burger". This was a tower of a burger. Juicy patty, perfect balance of sauce and spice, perfect bacon jam and crispy bacon. Held together all the way to the end. 10/10.
Last but not least was the "Wagyu Brisket Burnt Ends". We got it with the rocket and parmesan salad in lieu of the corn chips. Salad was decent, but the burnt ends were to die for. Melt in your mouth, perfect bite size and that BBQ sauce. Just wow, we were scraping the bottom of the dish for more. Outstanding. 10/10.
This was the perfect meal, we left 100% content and absolutely stuffed. We're already planning our next visit.
Overall 9/10, brilliant food, great service, huge portions and very well priced at $73 for the lot. Wow. Not sure what the other negative reviews are about. We couldn't have...
Read moreAppalling service. If I was able to give zero stars I would.
I have been to many lone star rib houses before they were closed around Sydney. This is the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant let alone a lone star.
1- my family and I were waiting at the door to be seated and waiters looked at us like we had no reason to be there. Once served they didn’t even have our table that we BOOKED ready.
2- waited 20-30 minutes for our drinks and they forgot two drinks and when asked about where they were, we were told they were never Ordered in the first place. Once our entrees came out we were not told about the boiling hot bowls and I burnt my hand trying to get a chip out of the bowl. Even my father said it was too hot.
3- waited ages for our mains and many were Brough out wrong so had to be sent back and then we waited a further 20-30 minutes for the same meal to come out (all they had to do was change the coleslaw)
4- dished didn’t come with sauces that were ordered and was once again told they were never ordered when everyone specifically asked for sauces with their meals.
5- very unhygienic had our entrees sitting on our table through out the whole meal and not a single person gathered finished meals or finished drinks. Had to rearranged table to fit main meals (infront of staff) and still no one moved to remove finished drinks and meals from the table
Appalled with the lack of service and skill from workers. All looked uninterested and passive aggressive towards customers.
I will NEVER be going back to this appalling restaurant...
Read moreTerrible experience tonight, and zero understanding, sympathy or apologies from either of the 2 staff we spoke to.
Issue 1: The place was almost empty but we were placed immediately adjacent to the only other customers in the place ... not even a table separating us.
Issue 2: The QR app to order your food charged more than the paper menu quoted. Asked a waiter about this, she said "I don't know, I didn't upload the prices." We had to ask if she would take an order manually and honour the menu price. She then had no idea about any of the menu items and asked if we wanted chips with the fish & chips(???).
Issue 3: Steak was cooked and served covered in peppercorns even though that isn't mentioned on the menu. The steak eater hates pepper so didn't eat because the flavour had permeated the meat. The meat also looked like it had been boiled or simmered and then thrown on the grill, it was a very odd grey colour. The ribs smelt horrible and off, but the steak eater ate them and said they were tasty.
Issue 4: Fish & chips + tartare sauce and slaw came without tartare sauce. Chips on both plates looked, felt and tasted like they were leftovers from the previous night.
Issue 5: When mentioning the price difference between paper and online menu's to another waiter when paying the bill, and the peppercorns, and missing sauce, there were zero cares given, no apology, just a mumble that maybe the easter weekend surcharge prices were still active in the app. No offer to rectify the issue, no apology, nothing.
I will never eat at any...
