I went here with my partner after craving some Italian food. I am sorry to say this place is anything but Italian. The 50+ menu item shows how confused the owners must be and clearly has zero influence from any Italian Mama or Papa. Seeing the prices on the pasta between $29-$32 made me doubt my initial assumptions that our visit here may have been mistaken as these prices are one of the highest I've ever paid for a plate of pasta.
While waiting for our food, the sounds of drums playing in our ear for birthdays was far from a pleasant and warm Italian atmosphere followed by Shisha smoke filling your lungs if you were unfortunate enough to be seated outside. All of which could be forgiven with a delicious meal but that too was such a dissapointment.
We ordered the Garlic bread and hot olives for starters. I must admit the garlic bread is the star of the show here. A piece of toast bread with a premade butter mix on it was the star. I suspect olives were microwaved as the plate was very hot and olives were soggy. Our mains were the Pesto pasta and the Venetian pasta. Pesto pasta had a tablespoon of pesto with an entire bottle of uncooked cream followed by the dry and sorry excuse of a Venetian pasta that was dryer than the bones of the last Doge of Venice who died in 1797. After 3 bites we got both meals to go as takeaway as I could not bear to waste $88.
We went directly down the road to 317 Restaurant and enjoyed our Pesto pasta for $22 instead of 29.
On our way to the car we handed both meals to homeless man who seemed to appreciate what many can't afford. I am glad Mama & Papas were partners in this form of charity hence the single star instead of zero.
Overall I am convinced the owners of this Restaurant had no Italian mama or papa but perhaps...
Read moreI wish there was a no star option, staff was uneducated and make mistakes asked for fettuccini on one dish and boiled rice on the other. What I got was penne and risotto, when served I made it clear this wasn’t my order and the lady said sorry then they came back out with fettuccine and risotto they then stated that risotto and rice are the same I explained that risotto is undercooked and slightly hard but boiled rice is soft and fluffy and this is not what I asked for then the manager came out and said no they’re the same and you will be charged if you don’t want the dish even though it was their mistake. They even had the nerve to charge extra for the boiled rice that I never even got on top of the risotto price. The actions and the staffs attitude was disgusting it’s all about money for them and it was the last of my concern I even had offered any amount of money to create the dish I requested and after contacting the kictchen they agreed. I understand what I wanted wasn’t on the menu but they agreed to give me what I asked for. I will never go there again it was a negotiation from get go then palming me off to several people then when I voiced the issue one lady said you can speak to the manager about a refund, a refund is not what I wanted I just wanted my dish the way I asked and not ripped off so I refused and just paid. I own several business and understand the importance of negative...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting and will certainly be my last. The night started off with one of my friends requesting a table near a heater outside to which the waitress responded saying there were heaters everywhere very rudely (we were a big group of people and simply wanted to sit at an empty table near the bigger heater). Following this, one of the waitresses dropped my drink on the table (which have holes) and the drink fell all inside my bag which was under the table. Though of course this was an accident, when speaking with the owner, he refused to compensate even the price of the drink from the bill, and instead asked if I had put my bag in a good place (there is nowhere else to put bags). The owner refused to see the situation from our perspective - I was occasionally accused of lying, and he finally claimed that this needed to go through insurance. Though I have never been in a situation exactly like this before, I have never interacted with such rude management over a situation which I was not at fault for at all. I was made to feel as though they did not care about their customers at all, the owner even said on one occasion "if you don't want to come back here that's fine, I hope you don't". Furthermore, the food was subpar, the shisha was subpar and we got charged extra because they mixed up one of the dishes we ordered. Extremely disappointed, a horrible experience and will never be coming...
