Busy and crowded. The decor is lovely but the management and layout is horrific. Inside the doors find the kiosks for taking your order, no checkout to help ease the crowds that completely block all access in or out of the building.
Successfully place your order on the often broken or faulty screens and you can now shuffle into the crowded audience waiting for their food at the counters.
A chorus of at least 3 teen girls will raucously scream random numbers every five seconds. Inevitably while you wait for your number, ten people who ordered after you have moved and stand blocking your way to the counter.
If you get your food, be sure to grab extra straws and napkins from the counter while the teen girls scream and everyone watches you as there are no dispensers elsewhere in the building.
When you find there are no vacant seats on the ground floor you will need to climb narrow steep stairs either side of the building. This may take some time, as they are not wide enough for two people carrying food to pass each other.
Reaching the upper level, navigate narrow balconies and a remarkably low number of tables until you secure a vacant seat. This seat will either be cushioned, unfathomably low and remarkably distant from the table. Or a hard stool that is shaped to either block the walking space behind you or slam your knees uncomfortably into the metal table supports.
If at this point you realise the staff screwed up your order, repeat the previous 4 paragraphs and wonder why you didn't opt for sushi or a sandwich from anywhere else in Sydney.
If you are seated with your food, sit back and let the 3 teen girls screaming numbers every few seconds provide the ambience for your meal. The open loft style of the building ensures you never escape their raucous cries.
On completing your meal, stand and navigate your way over and around the occupied stools, down the one person wide stairs, through the gaggle of prospective victims at the kiosks and emerge into the sullen concrete cityscape. If you avoid being hit by a light rail carriage or an aggressively entitled customer from the adjacent apple store, spend the rest of your day wondering why your body, your soul, and everything you wear has a new unnaturally thin layer of unnaturally grease and filth that never scrubs off.
Enjoy the rest of your life washing and rewashing yourself somewhat like Lady Mac beth and her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSaturday 8/6, my partner and I went out for a burger around 9:45 PM. And I will NEVER go back. Why? Read this.
While we were eating peacefully at one of the tables on the ground floor, we noticed that the upstairs area with more tables was closing, and a woman from the staff was telling people not to go up because she had to clean. This happened so many times that the lady started getting nervous because she couldn't do her job. After several minutes, when things seemed to calm down, a group of totally UNRULY girls came in like they owned the place. They went upstairs (which was closed), and the cleaning lady repeated that it was closed. This group started yelling and insulting in terrible ways, grabbing everyone's attention. The atmosphere got tense, and one of the girls started throwing the chairs that the lady had stacked to clean. She threw one of those chairs downstairs where there were lots of people and kids!!! I can't imagine what would have happened if it hit someone on the head. The woman from the staff was extremely stressed and nervous screaming for them to leave and the girls kept insulting and laughing at her.
A lot of people started leaving because of the situation. I saw kids crying because of this. It hurt my partner and me for several reasons. First, because of society, no one did anything about it, not even her coworkers (though I understand they must be tired). We tried to tell them to calm down, but it was useless without people's support, so we had to leave the place. What's wrong with society? They see a worker being verbally abused in such a horrible way and DO NOTHING? I'm sorry for Australia, but your young people need to learn values...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy goodness where do I start. The floors were abysmal. Filthy through and through, and reeking of piss. We unfortunately had to wait too long at the front desk for our order and my God we got a full whiff of everyone's UTIs. I've been to football matches where the bathrooms smelled better at full time than this establishment. And I don't fault the staff. It's like 5 people at lunch time trying to serve 50 orders. We had to wait like 10 minutes for a staff worker to not be busy enough to address our order because the machine's interface lacks options. After we got out food, which didn't take any time at all, we made the worst decision of the year so far. We took the stairs that pass by the bathroom. We got attacked by a swarm of flies, and our shoes were 3cm in a piss puddle. I wore my new shoes today and I'm this close to throwing them out. All in all, I wouldn't visit this location again even if I was starving. The smell of piss and shit is quite uninspiring.
I'd post a picture of the piss puddle, but I'm afraid the swarm of flies will...
