Monterey Sandwich Bar & Cafe - Nepean Squar — Restaurant in Sydney

Pretty ordinary - while I was waiting to get served, 2 different people complained about not receiving their correct orders - I thought, Gee this is good...sign of what was to come.

Stood there waiting for about 10 minutes after ordering, watching 4 people behind the counter run around like headless chooks while actually doing very little. They either don't know how to prioritize, or aren't interested in serving customers one at a time - it appeared to be whoever has the loudest voice gets served first, becoz one poor lady stood there for several minutes trying to get their attention, while others just marched up & got served straight away. Then, when my order finally arrived, the fish was raw - inedible. I should've taken a photo of it, or just taken it back to them & got my money back but I didn't want to stand there like a goose for another 15 minutes waiting.

We ordered the BLT burger which cleary shows a beef patty on the menu image. The burger came with only lettuce, tomato and a single piece of bacon. My husband thought maybe he had made a mistake so he ate the burger anyway. Once finshed we went back up to check the menu and it did show a meat patty on the item. We asked the staff if they knew they were selling something different to what is displayed, one of which was new and did not know and the other said he knows it's an issue and he will update the menu image. We asked to speak to the owner, the staff member went up and told him the issue. The owner looked over at us and then walked off, complete coward, ripping people off knowingly. Thought I would give this cafe a go as it looked like a mother and daughter operation. Order a big breakfast with black tea as well as an extra sausage. Waited about 10 to 15 minutes then the daughter walk around to my table to tell me my food was ready and on the counter, why she didn’t bring it as she came to my table is beyond me. Presentation was a bit ordinary, but what amazed me was cutlery was wooden knife and fork. Tried the mushrooms first and they were cold, have you ever tried to cut cold bacon and an overcooked sausage with a wooden knife. Silly me should have googled it first.
