VERY UPSET!
As local residents, regular customers and NANDO MEMBERS, NANDO CLARENCE STREET is one of the Nando Restaurants near us. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME MY HUSBAND AND I received a very bad service from NANDO CLARENCE STREET. We originally would like to try their new Promotion, a big combo for two (TEAR AND SHARE)!
We walked in the restaurant about 11:45am today (Friday, 28/06/2024). As usual, we found a table and prepared to sit down and place order through the APP or QR CODE on the Table. When we were about to sit down on Table #2 (for 2 to 4 people) (where we usually sat in the past and it is near the glass window ), one of Male Staff came to us and asked how many people we had. Look! I have to STRESS that it was about 95% of TABLES WERE EMPTY. Then, he pointed to the end of the restaurant and asked us to sit there because an hour later their restaurant would be crazily busy! My husband and I just want to have a quick lunch that we NEVER EXPECT TO SPEND MORE THAN 40 MINUTES (unless the order comes very slow) or the REST OF OUR DAY/LIFE!
To avoid an argument, I walked to the little Table that the Nando’s Staff pointed us to. Unfortunately, my husband and I really felt offended, disappointed and discriminated. We ended up waking out NANDA CLARENCE ST without sitting or ordering!
CUSTOMER SERVICE?!! Definitely, who cares! NONE OF THE STAFF AT NANDO CLARENCE STREET shows any concern at all in the incident!!!
Why wrote here?! As mentioned we are Nando’s Members (PERi PERKS), I could not find anywhere I could give a REVIEW through the APP or Site from NANDO’s at all!
Their PROMOTION “TEAR AND SHARE” really bought us a tear to share here! ...
Read moreI have absolutely no idea how this establishment is still open. I've been coming to this restaurant off and on (more off recently) for years. First at the old venue and now further down the street. Despite dirty plates and cutlery, sticky tables, wrong orders, poor customer service, cold food and a general lack of care I actually enjoy spicy food.
On this occasion they decided they do not serve dinner roles separately. I have been ordering the dinner rolls separately for about ten years at this restraunt and other restraunts in Europe.
The ordinary poor quality bread (tasting like a plastic pancake) is inedible, hence opting for "Dinner Rolls" which they now claim they cannot sell separately.
At 5pm on a Monday afternoon there was ONE person eating at the restaurant! Smack bang in the middle of the CBD. Surrounded by other establishments which were busy for that time of day.
Walking past every day the restraunt seems quieter and quieter. The Kebab shop across the road, which is so small you couldn't swing a cat had 5 customers in. I don't think I've ever seen the same member of staff twice and retaining staff seems to be a problem.
I'm really not one to complain, but this was one of about a dozen disappointing visits. I never even completed my order, thanking the gentleman and leaving. Never have I seen an establishment so determined to drive their business...
Read moreI am a regular fan of Nando’s and usually enjoy the food and experience. However, I had a disappointing encounter at your clarence st branch recently that I feel is important to share.
I went in alone for lunch, and the indian waiter approached me with, “Have you been to Nando’s before?” When I said yes, he responded, “Okay, you must know how to order,” and then pointed me to a seat. What bothered me was that I observed him not asking the same question to other customers. This made me feel singled out and uncomfortable.
After my meal, I politely raised this with him, explaining that I’ve visited Nando’s in many countries and have never been treated in this way. His explanation was that he had not seen me at this particular branch before — which, in my opinion, is not a valid reason to treat a customer differently.
I left feeling that this was poor customer service, and whether intentional or not, it carried undertones of unconscious bias. As someone who has always associated Nando’s with inclusivity and great hospitality, this was disappointing. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that all customers — regardless of background, appearance, or whether they dine alone — feel...
