I was here with a group on Wednesday April 11th for drinks/dinner following a movie.

Let us start with ordering drinks. Upstairs they have a HUGE bar but they will only serve you at one end of the bar.

For food I ordered the Rossilini Parma burger (Angus beef patty) with bacon. it looked ok when I picked it up, could have a few more fries with it. When I took the first bite something did not taste right. I took another bite and it tasted the same. When I looked at the burger it was clear that it was in no way shape or form an angus beef patty. I showed it to one of the guys on my table and they all agreed that it was not an angus beef patty. What it looked like was that they had taken a roll of luncheon meat and sliced it and cooked that. There is no way it was a minced angus beef patty.

I took it back to the kitchen and told them what I thought and they flustered. I asked them to show me the packet the 'burger' had come from. The hesitated and came up with some excuse. I repeated that it was not even close to angus beef and they tried to convince me it was minced. Yeah right.

I then spoke with the bar staff and asked for the manager. I explained the situation to him and he went to the kitchen. Upon his return he explained that he had been told that they had run out of angus beef and replaced it with a wagyu beef patty. Sorry to be the barer of bad news but there is no way on this earth that it was wagyu beef.

A couple of people on our table ordered the baby calamari but when it arrived and we all looked at it, it did not look like the round calamari we are all used to.

The pizzas all looked that they were a McCain frozen pizza or they were using lebanese bread as the base. One person left the base and just ate the topping.

Quite frankly, when you see angus beef patty on the menu you expect that that is what will be served. You do not expect to be served what appears to be luncheon meat.

My recommendation is to avoid this place if you plan on eating because the quality of their food leaves a lot...

I am very dissatisfied with how your security staff treated my partner this evening. I am appalled that you can find this behaviour acceptable. My partners account is as follows :

"Myself and my work colleagues visited the Star Bar tonight. We arrived at 5pm, and stayed until 7.30pm, having had dinner and a few drinks. The food we had and the service at the Bar was outstanding. We then left to go to a Karaoke venue, at which I consumed only water. On returning to the Star Bar at 10pm, I was confronted by a Bouncer, who refused me entry, stating that I was intoxicated. Of which I was not! The rest of our Party was allowed in without question, which surprised me as we had all consumed about the same number of drinks. When I tried to explain this to the Bouncer, he was rude and arrogant towards me. He refused to listen to anything I had to say. I feel that I was discriminated against, as most of our party were in their 30s, and I am in my mid fifty’s. This blatant discrimination is unacceptable. What started out as a really nice night for us, has been tainted by this Bouncer, who was clearly out of line. As a result of the way that I have been treated, I will not return to the Star Bar again, nor would I recommend it to anybody else. I am a dissatisfied...

I went on a Friday night to grab dinner and the Lady at bar on the upstairs left side bar was extremely rude and had attitude problems. I just asked her about the steak and if it's included in the special and the price of the steak and ask what it comes with and she spoke to me in a condescending way and kept saying can't you read and pointed to the menu. She was Caucasian with blonde/brown hair and had a European accent. I hope Star Bar knows about this staff member and rethinks her employment I don’t deserve to be treated this way and talked down to. Maybe she’s racist I don’t know or had a bad day but you never take it out on the customers. I’m giving Star bar business and customers should be treated with respect. This is horrible customer service I feel violated the way she spoke to me I will not go back due to this...

Came to the Star Bar on a Saturday night around 7 pm. As I was with a few friends, we decided to go upstairs to the restaurant area. The menu had a good range of classic choices, such as the Caesar Salad (which is what I got). When ready to order, you are required to go to the bar, yet pick up your food at the restaurant itself. Not that it was a huge issue. There is light background music until 9:30 pm to which the volume turns up and your voices become drowned out. This is due to the upstairs area being turned into a nightclub. Some chairs and tables are removed to make way for an open dance floor. Overall, it was a great experience, and I can see myself returning in the near future.

I lost count on how may times we go here, but we love eating here. We order the $12.50 steak and mash, we order the add on chicken wings and pasta special or the $15 steak from Wednesday’s. For the price it’s worth it. The chefs cooks it well and the steaks are tender and usually a lot better then some restaurants I’ve been too. I don’t think you can get a better steak for that price in the city. We’ve eaten mostly everything else on the menu and it’s been good too. But we definitely like the steaks. Great looking place. Chefs are great. We are regulars here, we some times eat here 3x a week. Overall great place for anyone wanting a affordable meal and a few drinks with friends.

All fine meal:) I chose $12.50 meals for lunch and I added a creamy mushroom sauce which was $3. I ordered steak among 3 choices, steak, pasta and fish and chips. For side, I had french fries and an alternative was mashed potato. I enjoyed medium-rare cooked steak which was tender and juicy. French fries were good too, and I recommend you to order french fries rather than mashed potato bcz it was quite creamy for me. You can choose not to order extra sauce since there are free sauces like seed mustard.
