I was excited to try Porch and Parlour; my expectations were high! I wish they hadn't been. It was a really crumy experience. The service was so rude I couldn't believe it. My coffee was fine and whilst I didn't eat, I've heard the food is great. I was my usual friendly self but the guy serving me wanted to use hand motions rather than words. It was so bizzare. My small talk efforts were met with dismissive grunts. I haven't had someone be so cold and rude to me in as long as I can remember in any setting, let alone one where I am a customer. It was honestly like he was angry at me or something. Just so unpleasant and if I wasn't a happy person it would have ruined my morning. Porch and Parlour is trying really hard to be a cool place and I'm not an overly cool person. So it's probably my fault. I'm just myself and I don't think that (or the fact that I'm a local) is quite enough for them. It was definitely a one star experience but I thought I'd throw in an extra star; never use someone's poor behaviour to excuse your own right!? But I won't be back. And that probably suits them too. Over to the cool people I guess.

I had one of the best flat whites I’ve had in Sydney here. And the view and location is gorgeous. If I were reviewing this place on the coffee, it would be five stars. But the food wasn’t up to par. Which is a shame, because a few years back this was one of my favorite brunches in Sydney. I ordered the labneh eggs, with a side of veggies. The eggs were over-cooked and the dish was saturated with oil, making the veggies unpleasant. The zaatar bread served with it was also drenched in oil. If you don’t mind that I’m sure you’d enjoy the meal, the roasted capsicum and tomatoes were flavorful, and the labneh was nice. But for me, that spoiled the dish. I have to take a brief aside to mention that whilst our waiter wasn’t great, the gentleman at the front desk and the barista were awesome.

Excellent large latte (Will & Co.), creamy and smooth. Had the sprouted gluten free bread which was tasty but slightly over toasted for my liking. It was crunchy (yum) on the outside but rather black on the bottom. I had it with butter but I think it would have been great with avocado on it. Two pieces was very filling and gave my jaw a good workout! I was told it is made of buckwheat, sweet potato, quinoa, herbs and coconut oil. They do dinner as well Wed-Sun and will be back to try their dishes. Just a tip, the long bench against the wall is not a great place to sit if the person at the next table is fidgety (like mine was)! It's one long bench and though quaint, you can feel the rocking throughout your meal :) Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is my 2nd time visiting this place as i thought previously the food was really scrumptious and I am going to forgive the veeery slow service from last time. However i have forgotten how rude especially the owner was. As if he was almost not happy to see us. So cold and unfriendly from the moment we entered the place. Any attemped small talk was dismissed. I cant believe how an owner could dare to behave like he does to a customer. Anyway, we ignored that again and while we are waiting for our food to come, around 12.20, the music was so unbareable that we couldnt have a conversation. After we politely suggested to soften it down so we can hear each others conversation, the nice waiter kindly listened to us but in 5 mins the music went louder again. We ignored thqt again. When i wanted to order my seconds at around 12.45 he told us that they are closing at 1pm while he was accepting more customers outside. When i asked what about the sign saying 3pm he wasnt even apologetic he shrugged his shoulders and said that was old time which was strange for a cafe like this. I checked their website they accept online reservation until 2.45pm. Also checking the other reviews here it sounds like he is practising this type of cold and rude behaviour pretty often to 'foreigners' like me which sounds very racist of some sort. This is so upsetting in this day and age. I hope he changes this behaviour before it is too late as someone might sue him for this behaviour🙄  Otherwise i would say they have very lovely food on a nice corner of Bondi. I wish i didnt give a second chance and ruin all my day like the last time. So unacceptable I would never visit this place again or recommend to anyone. It is...

A very disappointing experience today at Porch and Parlour. Unfortunately we were informed they are now under new owners/management and I will say it was a completely underwhelming experience all around compared to times dining under the previous ownership. I ordered the Cosmic Salad, which alone was $24 and added a side of ocean trout that was $10. Expecting a pretty decent sized portion for a $34 meal, however it was just a small handful of some chopped lettuce and a few bits of beetroot and sauerkraut with 2 cherry tomatoes. The $10 piece of trout was tiny and I was still starving afterwards. The salad had zero flavor, there was certainly nothing ‘cosmic’ about it considering the price. My friend also had a disappointing experience and we both left feeling a little robbed compared to the previous menu and incredible dining experiences we had. The staff were not very friendly either. Not sure what’s going on under the new management but I would not be returning again anytime soon. Such a sad day to see Porch and Parlour not thriving in its food and service with...
