Looks like my experience is shared by many. Dropped in on Monday to grab lunch. I took one of my Russian labourers who had never tried crepes before. You get to choose your filling from. List of sweet or savoury options. Our 2 crepes came to just over $40. I get it, Bondi prices but and happy to spend when it’s worth it. Our fillings were cheese, ham, shallots and egg. There are no suggestions for fillings so the more you choose the higher the price and you’re just watched while you make your decisions with no suggestions although when I asked, I was told they would give me a suggestion but didn’t. The Ham was cheap soccer ball ham, not premium. I watched them cook it, I could see the crepe smoking and had turned very dark brown with black spots. I asked for a serviette when we were served our crepe and the girl physically removed two hidden serviettes with her own hands 8 was not provided the tin to remove them myself and then a third serviette was given when I said I needed more for the ride home. The crepe had a consistent drip of oil from the melted cheese by the time I got to car,. The crepe tasted overcooked and dirty (flavour of old cooked food). The service was cold and pretentious, I’d picked up on that but my Russian friend had made a point of saying something similar. Terrible a new resident has to have the flavour of service in Bondi . The girls at counter aren’t welcoming and aren’t helpful. I walked back from car to return the crepe and ask for money back. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised (reason for 2 star) the money was immediately returned and we put crepes in bin. They had one customer in the shop, he went on to give me his opinion and tell me I’m in the wrong and this place is great. I’m glad they have one supporter. The reviews here aren't really supporting his view. I’d suggest the whole business model and attitudes need a tweak as businesses will not survive with an “I’m too good for you” attitude and sub standard quality food. Just our opinion and I’m sorry I had to write this but I wouldn’t have stepped in there if I’d read the previous reviews so it’s worth sharing and hope there’s improvements. I genuinely thought the shop has been there forever and...
Read moreThe food was nice but it's sad that this experience turned sour because of the staffs. 2 French ladies were working at the time. From the moment I ordered the staff has been judgemental. I ordered a nutella, banana strawberry crepe and asked if I can add a savoury topping as extra such as smolked salmon as extra topping. The server straight away raised her eyebrows at my order and said uhm with a judgy look. I said ok you can put it on the side if it's easier. I know it's not a "typical" combo for a crepe but I have weird cravings since I am pregnant. Plus, we are not in Europe where such thing can be a taboo for them🤦🏻♀️. There were not many customers at that time so I can see my order being prepped. As the lady was putting the smoked salmon on top of the nutella crepe, the other lady gasped and they laughed as they were looking at it. They took photos and I heard them say make sure you send it. They finished prepping the order with visible DISGUST on their faces and said ew. The food was handed to my table and they were watching me eat feeling grossed out all through out. I enjoyed the food but I would have enjoyed my experience more without being judged. As an employee you should keep your reactions to yourselves if it's not an ideal order for you. So unprofessional. You should not judge or care whatever weird order we make if it is possible for you to make, we are paying for it after all. I could tell they were international students with lack experience in diversity. They couldn't even speak proper English, but who's judging. Go back to France if such thing as this is a big deal for you! So...
