This is a vegetarian restaurant that has a little bit of everything. They have north and south Indian cuisine, as well as a small Indo-Chinese menu. The decor is very open and vibrant. It's one of the very few indian restaurants that I've seen in the area that doesn't seem to be playing Bollywood classics on a TV in the corner of the room. The best place to sit on a warm night is out on the balcony. It's lovely to watch the people go past and enjoy a meal. The service is very quick and the staff are super attentive. The women who served us was lovely. She explained each menu item, when we were unsure about something. Prices are fairly standard, as are portion sizes. The naan is very good here. It's soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The samosa seems like its cooked fresh. It's good and crispy on the outside, not soft like it had been microwaved. Very nice. The sauce that comes with the samosa is great. The eggplant curry is amazing. I'd also recommend the paneer butter masala. It can get busy around 8pm in the evening, but it's easy to get a table sometime before that.

We had vegetarian lunch at this restaurant on recent Saturday and ordered a few of their favorite dishes like masala dosa, samosa and the Southern Indian thali meal which has similar concept like Japanese bento or Korean dosirak i.e. big tray with bits of various dishes. We like all the dishes, though the dosa was not as crispy as the one we had in other Indian restaurants. They have very good dipping sauces for the samosa and dosa though. We also like the puri included in the thali meal. The place also sells many varieties of Indian sweets, though we did not have stomach capacity to try them after the big lunch we ordered above. The place's ambience is quite good for casual family restaurant in the suburb. Customer services from staff members are also good and they're ready to provide dish recommendation to non-Indian native customers like us. Prices on the menu are quite good value for money and you can pay with V/MC cards with no additional surcharge.

We have been eating here since restaurant opened. Generally we dine in and their standard thali is decent enough however I must say their deliveries are a let down especially when it comes to curries. Today we ordered Malai Kofta, Shahi Paneer and Naans. The naans were good size soft and fluffy but that’s where it stops. Straight after I placed the order on uber eats, I called up and asked them to make the curries medium spicy and not mild. The girl confirmed she would ask the chef to do so. Both curries were a huge let down for taste. Malai kofta and Shahi paneer were so bland and sweet that we could not reduce the sweetness even after adding one whole spoon of chilli powder and salt in the curries. We would never order their standard curries anymore especially when they don’t know how to follow clear instructions. On top of that the gravy of Shahi paneer was runny. It spoiled our whole Sunday lunch tbh. Very disappointed

we have travel from the city to go and have some authentic cuisine so we saw this restaurant nice and very attractive signs outside, one staff was nice cleaned one table for us we were told she will come n take our order soon, anyhow we've been waiting but no one came to take our order so my husband went to ask and the guy said we only order at the counter well, that staff should have told us to order at the counter instead of been waiting for how many minutes so wee ordered thali's, malai kofta and palak paneer taste good but the rest wasn't good, pani puri was the worst one looks like they just open from a bought packet n serve, a bit old and not that crunchy as it should be, There should be option of Xtra hot, medium n mild curries that caters for everyone , we ask for a take away container from one of their staff she said she will bring, after few minutes we saw her leaving home so my husband went again to the counter to ask so disappointed for their service very poor I mean very very poor, I have been to many Indian restaurant n I haven't seen this type of service, If I have the chance to visit Sydney again I won't be coming to your restaurant that's for sure and I won't recommend to anyone either, sorry this is mean but inorder to have a good rating reviews for your bussiness you need to improve your service to your customers, if you are going to serve pani puri in your menu u need to deep fry yourself n not to serve the one from the packet or old one that u fried days ago, Gave you one star for cleaning the table for us and the 2 tasty curries. My little advice is read all the reviews, take it seriously turn them to positive one and I'm sure your business...

We have been a regular customer at Taj since they opened in Harris Park in 2002 or thereabouts and whilst in the last 2-3 years the food has had some hits and misses, net net it’s been ok and the staff have always handled complaints well.....until today. We went and ordered masala dosa with the potato on the side, my wife had barely taken 3 bites and said the potato on the top of her bowl is stale but at the bottom is off. I had mine and was the same. My wife called over the manager and told him, he said it’s fresh but he will take it to the chef anyway. Came out and said chef says it’s fine, there is no problem. Did not bring her bowl out or replace her potato and the guy disappeared as well. My wife had a plain dosa and not the masala one she had ordered. We have both had gastro for the last 2 hours.....added bonus to paying for our food 🙄

While in no way is it acceptable to be served food that is sub par, the worst was the attitude....the chef is right, not the paying customer. I think the owners of Taj who we have supported through the years with our patronage forget that it’s not that their restaurant is the only one serving this kind of food anymore, there are many more in Harris Park and patrons are spoilt for choice.

Seems to be a few reviews of food served which has gone bad and customer treated poorly. I will be lodging a complaint with the food safety authority tomorrow, probably the only way to give the customer...

Dear Taj Management,

I hope this message finds you well. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional service provided by your staff during my recent visit to your esteemed establishment.

From the moment I entered the restaurant, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a genuine smile. The staff members demonstrated a high level of professionalism, attentiveness, and knowledge of the menu. They were prompt in assisting me with my inquiries and made helpful suggestions regarding the culinary offerings.

The dining experience was truly delightful. The ambiance of the restaurant, coupled with the delectable Indian cuisine, created a memorable evening. The presentation of the dishes was aesthetically pleasing, and the flavors were an exquisite blend of authenticity and creativity.
