As a performer and promoter I was asked to check out the venue my friends had just performed at. I was quite impressed with the underground nightclub that they had at the venue and requested to speak with the on duty manager so that I could get information about potentially performing for them.
The lady that I spoke to who was running the sunday evening/Monday morning shift was incredibly abrasive, one of her first things she said to me was that they don't pay to book performers and I informed her that I am not seeking payment but rather a venue we could host a show and would be running our own promotion to generate income from the show. First she informed me that a promoter had to contact them, I explained that I was infact a promoter and had been suggested to check out the venue by another promotion crew who infact had performed for them recently. She then told me that I required a management team to get into contact with them. As one of the managers of my particular record label we have decided that we will not perform this particular venue.
It's honestly a great venue as a guest but as a performer they are not the best to work with. After speaking with the other production company they informed me they had infact spoken with the exact same manager and felt she was abrasive for no reason towards them too on their performance night.
After our interaction where I apologised for wasting her time and I no longer needed information or wanted to work with the venue she visibly became frustrated and I witnessed her slamming her bucket around and being quite tempertamtrumy if I can invent a word for a moment here.
Needless to say my group could not leave the venue quickly enough due to the negative atmosphere introduced by the manager herself.
Everyone else was amazing, and security was honestly super friendly when I...
Read moreWe were told the food would take 25-30 minutes, and we advised we were on a tight timeframe because we were going to the Capitol theatre for a show. That would have fit our schedule no problem. They brought out 2 of the four meals after 20 minutes. Another 20 minutes after those two meals had been eaten, and the other two of us sat hungry, there was still no sign of the remaining two meals and so we enquired and they said there were just starting to cook them now. We couldn’t believe they hadn’t even started making them and it was already more than 45 minutes since we had ordered, and we had to leave to get to our show at the Capitol on time. So we asked for the refund on those two meals which they agreed to do, but on checking my credit card this morning, the refund is not on there. I think they pressed cancel after I had swiped my card again and now I’m going to have to waste my time calling them to chase it up. Do not recommend this...
Read moreThe bouncers at the door are some of the most racist and bigoted people I met in my life. Not only did they say my state issued ID was fake they tried to confiscate it. I have used the same ID in Sydney for 5 years now and used the same ID overseas with no problems what so ever. They were rude Dissmisve and so clearly under instructions not to let any africans in. Right after they refused me entry they allowed a clearly intoxicated person in then proceeded to refuse entry to a group of African males right after who did nothing wrong . One of the worst experiences in my life and absolute waste of my time and money seeing that I bought a ticket for an event there. Mind you this is not the first time I experienced obvious discrimination there. I was there 3 years ago and the bouncer asked me to lift my shirt before letting me in but didn't ask any one else in my group to do the same. Seriously guys.... Thank you for making me...
