Beneath the simple allure of Abb Air’s menu lies a multitude of flavours, each with its own story. The recipes of Abb Air have been passed down through generations preserving the traditional Thai taste. Using fresh herbs, authentic spices, fresh ingredients and exotic seasoning, they redefine traditional dishes to ensure all customers receive an unparalleled Thai dining experience.
In Thailand, there is no such thing as a starter, main or dessert. There is also no one person at the table a dish belongs to. The number of dishes ordered equal the number of diners sat down to eat and everything is shared and enjoyed together.
Chef Oliver, Chef Aoody, Chef Prem have combined decades of experience, a fountain of knowledge and heart into creating the contemporary Thai menu. A trio of ‘Chef’s Recommendations’ showcases the cohesiveness in their respective specialities and experience.
The Chef’s Recommended dish is called :LOVE” - a crab stick roll with enoki mushroom and fish wrapped in seawood and jeweled with salmon roe - the combination of flavors living up to the expectations of the art form that’s served to the table. Freshness of the seafood and smokiness in the mushroom ends with bursts of roe. The dish living up to its name in taste and also beauty. The pork sausage is lean weaving in gluttonous rice, while the chive dumplings are crisp on the outside and topped with deep fried garlic and was a great accompaniment.
A selection of mains revolve around heat. Papaya Salad and the Red Duck Curry were beautifully executed, much in the same way you would expect on the street stalls of Bangkok, balanced out with the original fried rice.
There’s something classy about soft shell crab with crispy fried greens, taking street food to a new level.
The Hotpot is the essential winter warmer, a brothe that’s prepared for hours with mixed seafood absorbing that intense flavor.
A luxurious velvetty theme of Pandan, a lime coloured asian vanilla flavour that themes their desserts and some of their ice tea.
The communal dining experience, the social nature of Thai people embodied by the staff and it’s central location in World Square make it a great meeting point for a catchup while enjoying over modern interpretations of...
Read moreI always come here because i love the food. And everytime i come they never served me and my friend water. (They served another table water but not our table) this happened not only once but everytime we come. I dont know why. But i still tolerance that problem. It just a small things. I keep coming back
But for today, i think i need to write it here. This is already enough. When i come, They dont give us the menu. Until we wait around 10 minutes & finally we decided to asked for it. (I try to understand)
Ok then, This time, they also still not serving us the water (but yes, still the same problem, the other table around us get the water) haha.
But, the worst things here They’re really not polite today. Me & my friend finish the food already & decided to order dessert. We even come to the counter to order it by ourself. We dont even ask you to come to our table. We try to understand you guys are busy! We help to make you guys easier. We just go to the counter & order it.
7 minutes later, one of your staff coming to our table with unhappy face & not even saying sorry and with raising voice “ NO MORE DESSERT “ And then just pick up everything in our table. Your staff just like want to “sent out” me and my friend from the restaurant.
We pay for your food. We try to understand everything because we also working in hospitality environment. But this is too bad. You should first say sorry & ask a permission can we just clean up your table or something like that.

Read more"There's only two certainties in life... death and taxes." I bet you've heard of that expression before! Well, I reckon there's something else certain and that's Thai-town in Sydney because every restaurant you try around here will 100% be a good time 😩. No, I'm absolutely serious. Thai food rocks, and Thai-town has it going on! 😍 I've been excitedly prepping my tastebuds for a short trip to Bangkok later this year. There are very many dishes to choose from at Abb Air 1982 restaurant, but none caught my eye more than this Kra Dong set where you can choose a couple of different meats to eat atop black and white sticky rice. I took one of the staff's hot tip to choose the pork belly, fried chicken thigh, and beef heaven (aka Nua Sawan, a sweet and spicy dried beef jerky that almost cracks like glass). But there's a vast drop down menu to choose from, including liver, pork ribs and chicken wings. I say drop down menu because it's one of those tech savvy places where you 'have to' order via the QR code LOL. Anywho, the star of this dish has to be the spicy chilli paste they serve it with. It's called Nam Phrik and it's glorious. It was garlicky, citrussy, and HOT. Order extra if you can, and just smother that naughty stuff all over the sticky rice because it brings nothing but flavourrrr. I think without it, the sticky rice itself wouldn't have much going on. The pork belly and chicken thigh were both deep fried (the chicken with a batter coating, the pork belly without), and quite tender. Considering it's complement to the sticky rice and nam phrik spice, I think the chicken won for me! P.S. Watch us eat this in my Thai Town food tour video on the YouTube channel 🫶 📍 Abb Air Thai Cuisine...
