Bangkok’s bustling streets are a treasure trove for food lovers, and my recent encounter with a humble yet vibrant street food stall left me utterly spellbound. This unassuming spot, tucked between colorful market stalls, delivers an explosion of authentic Thai flavors at prices that won’t make your wallet flinch—perfect for travelers and locals alike.
Let’s start with the stars of the show: the Pineapple Seafood Fried Rice and the Tom Yum Goong Soup. The fried rice is a masterclass in balance—plump shrimp, tender squid, and sweet pineapple chunks mingle with fluffy thai jasmine rice, all wok-tossed to smoky perfection. A hint of curry powder and a squeeze of fresh lime elevate it from ordinary to extraordinary. As for the Tom Yum, this iconic soup is a fiery, aromatic symphony. The broth packs a punch with its tangy lemongrass, fiery chilies, and earthy galangal, while succulent prawns and mushrooms add depth. A creamy swirl of coconut milk softens the heat, making it addictive yet comforting.
What’s even better? The lunch specials here are a steal. For under 25$ PP you can savor a hearty meal that feels like a luxury. Portions are generous, and the freshness of ingredients—crackling morning market produce and seafood—shines through every bite.
The only hiccup? Securing a seat. This place is no secret, and the limited stools fill up fast during peak hours. Arrive early or embrace the wait—it’s a small price to pay for such culinary brilliance.
In a city where street food reigns supreme, this stall stands out for its bold flavors, affordability, and unpretentious charm. Whether you’re a spice seeker or a comfort-food devotee, missing this gem would be a culinary sin. Grab a seat (if you can!), order extra napkins, and let your taste buds dance.

Read moreWish I had wasted my money elsewhere. Beef salad was so overcooked was like chewing leather. I specifically only came out to the city just to eat out. You can’t request your meat cooked a specific “doneness” although I requested cooked a specific way. I went with their standard as I hoped they would just make it as I’ve ordered it multiple times in the past from the same place and it’s always been medium-rare, I just hoped and prayed they would make it the same as always. If your getting take-away you can’t reheat it because it’s already cooked well done. I recommend getting laab dib (raw beef) if your getting takeaway that way you can cook it a little at home. I give 3 stars because the flavour is there and this was the one time I wasn’t satisfied from the 4 or 5 times I’ve ordered from here. Sadly they never use to overcook in the past. Meat was always tender and never well done. Maybe white people like it well done idk and they probably started changing the cooking method. My Thai mum and Aunties would never! Price isn’t worth the overcooked meat especially travelling an hour for it. Should’ve just gotten ubereats at home. What a waste of money. They used to be top of my list in 2021. I’m sure they’ll be glad I’m not a returning customer, a lot of other places to try in the city to seek authentic Thai food. I guess I can’t expect consistency all the time as it was really busy on a weekend night and I do respect the fact that every other time I ate here the food was amazing. I do care that the hospitality workers have a family of their own to support and working in restaurant is hard, my first job was in a restaurant. Honestly they never fail with flavour and maybe it was one time disappointment so don’t be afraid to give them a try. Just try to be specific that you don’t want...
Read moreUpon entering the restaurant, the sight of almost every seat occupied initially seemed promising—a potential indicator of the establishment's popularity and quality. With anticipation, I explored the extensive menu and ultimately decided on the red duck curry paired with a side of sticky rice.
The coconut cream and curry paste melded well, and the accompanying vegetables were skillfully prepared. However, the dining experience took a downturn with the duck. Instead of the expected duck breast, my plate contained pieces riddled with cartilage, rendering them overcooked and chewy. The unmistakable pre-cooked flavor suggested a lack of freshness, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the dish.
To compound matters, the sticky rice arrived steaming in a plastic bag. Instantly, concerns about potential health hazards and environmental impact surfaced—conjuring images of plastic melting or releasing harmful chemicals when exposed to high heat. This, coupled with the negative ecological connotation, left a palpable discomfort.
Regrettably, these factors prompted a deduction of 2 stars from my rating: one for the unconventional presentation of rice in a plastic bag and another for the subpar quality of the duck—overcooked, lacking freshness, and burdened with cartilage. While the service was commendable and the staff friendly, the $32 price tag for a plate featuring these portion sizes seemed disproportionate, especially when compared to other establishments offering more satisfying alternatives, much better quality and cheaper. In conclusion, the dining experience was underwhelming, and I probably won't...
