The Office Hotel — Restaurant in Sydney

Where do I start I had just hopped off the train heading towards King Street wharf where I thought I would stop and have a quick beer along the way boy wasn't I in for rude Awakening as it was my turn to get service and I will mention this I am a person of color and this made me feel very uncomfortable where I was halfway through ordering my drink to have the bartender just walk away and attending other services another bartender a gentleman came to serve me and he was very nice and I said to him what's up with that guy. AS that bartender came back I confronted him and told him about his service and how disgusting it was in doing so the white female manager kicked me out obviously on her power trip. So I left I just want to say how racist this place is and I would like to name and shame this place I should have taken photos of these people 0 but instead a review on here will have people read it

I would also like to mention when I confronted the man who walked away he didn't even know what to say

Ok, nothing extraordinary

They have a different special each day which is ok for the price, typically $15.

Expensive if you don't go with the special of the day though.

Blandish atmosphere overall

Time to get your order is ok but can increase once the place fills up but I've never experienced it being excessive

Varying table sizes, some 2 seater, 4 seater and larger 6-8 seater bench tables.

Downstairs is fairly dimly lit, not a den, but because of the floor being semi below street level, not much natural light. Upstairs gets a bit more natural light, especially the balcony areas

Staff are polite but as the place lacks any specific theme or vibrance, they reflect the atmosphere, there to do the job with little fuss

Overall, a fairly average eating experience. Beers are ok, nothing extraordinary and priced similar to other places which is not...

This has been my regular local bar for the past year. I’ve never caused trouble there and never been too intoxicated there. Tonight on the 14th February 2025, I was refused entry by a security guard that I have never seen there before for supposably being too intoxicated which I can assure wasn’t the case. I am shocked with how I was spoken to by this security guard after only having a few mid strength beers prior to attempting to go to The Office Hotel. I will not attend this premises again until I receive in writing that this security company/security guard will no longer be at this premises and after reading the many other reviews related to complaints about the security guards, I think a change of contracted security is much needed.
