I rarely leave negative reviews, but after my recent experience at Totti's, I feel I need to warn any other new parents or families thinking of making a booking.

TLDR: 5pm Tue 7th booking. Poor service by tall dark haired "mgr" with top knot and French accent. Pushed off the table by literally telling us (at 545) we needed to be gone by 7pm. Slow service. Tough pork schnitzel. Reduced, smaller portion sizes. Not accommodating for having a baby despite confirming, as fellow diners without kids were not rushed. Mgr attitude towards our table made us uncomfortable and anxious on our first outing out with a baby and ruined the Birthday celebration dinner. Family with maybe a 6 month old at the table next to us arrived after us and left before us as they also seemed to be rushed off the table by the same "mgr". We were off your table by 645.

SERVICE: My partner and I have been to this Totti's several times before we had our baby. Now with a 3 month old baby, we (plus my mum) went this week to celebrate my Birthday. This visit also happened to be our first restaurant outing with our new baby. We called ahead to ensure the restaurant was baby friendly and confirmed we would be dining with a pram.

While dining, the service was slow between the antipasti and the mains, I took this opportunity to leave the table to breastfeed at 545 so I could enjoy my main dinner when it arrived. I was gone a total of 10 min and a mgr (tall, dark haired with a top knot and thick french? accent) approached my mum and informed her he had a booking for the table at 7pm and would need us off the table by this time. I returned to the table and the mains didn't arrive for another 15 min. Following the mains, this same person cleared the table and proceeded to move around the remaining items on the table to remove the paper table covering. I thought this was strange as this was not done during our previous visits. This left us sitting looking at a dirty, shabby table top. Due to feeling uncomfortable and rushed we didn't order any celebratory dessert.

I will say the hostess is always very nice and wished me a happy birthday when we arrived and made sure we were comfortable with the table and the pram when seating us.

FOOD: We ordered several antipasti items and several shared mains plus sides. The main portion sizes were smaller this visit. The pork schnitzel was tough and overcooked. I ordered the non-alcoholic spritz which I had on our last visit when pregnant and really enjoyed. However this time it was way to sweet and I struggled to finish it.

ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere is always great, it's why we wanted to come for my Birthday and our first baby outing somewhere we knew and enjoyed prior.

I wish we could have enjoyed our night out rather than feeling anxious and uncomfortable. Following this visit we will think twice about returning as it seems having a baby...

We came here for lunch and was greeted its rustic decor, soft lighting, and welcoming atmosphere, it's the perfect spot for a cozy meal with family or friends. They did a very good job turning a pub into an italian restaurant.

The dining experience begins with a selection of antipasti that sets the tone for the meal. The kingfish crudo was delicious, melt-in-your-mouth kingfish delicately arranged and dressed with a hint of lemon, olive oil, and a sprinkle of sea salt. The parfait is smooth and rich, with a silky texture and a depth of flavour and perfect companion to the wood-fired bread, which arrived at the table warm and fragrant. The crust was perfectly crisp, while the inside remains soft and airy.

For main we ordered: Bucatini, shiitake, chilli, garlic & vongole pasta, The bucatini was cooked to al dente perfection, its hollow shape ideal for capturing the rich sauce. The shiitake mushrooms added a deep, earthy flavour that pairs beautifully with the tender vongole. Infused with garlic and a touch of chilli, the dish is aromatic and satisfying, with a perfect balance of spice and umami.

Josper-roasted prawns, chilli & lemon. These fresh prawns were expertly cooked in the Josper grill, which imparts a smoky flavour that complements the natural sweetness of the seafood. The addition of chilli provides a gentle kick, while a squeeze of fresh lemon juice brightens the dish, enhancing the prawns' succulent taste.

Roasted Cauliflower with Almond, Prosciutto, and Chilli. The cauliflower was beautifully charred, offering a delightful crunch, while the toasted almonds add a nutty richness. The prosciutto gave a savory and subtle saltiness, perfectly balanced by the gentle heat of the chilli.

For dessert - tart of the day with prune, custard, almond and frangipani. It has perfectly baked, golden crust that provides a crisp and buttery base for the layers above. The prunes are soft and sweet, offering a pleasant contrast to the smooth and creamy custard layer that sits atop the crust. The custard is light yet indulgent, with a hint of vanilla. I also loved the torched caramelises sugar on top. I am not a dessert person but this one was delicious and light.

Service was good, attentive and pleasant.

Definitely would come back to try their other...

We came here for a friend’s birthday for lunch. We heard good things about Totti’s and wanted to give it a try. The food were amazing but the service was a let down. We expected more.

We’ve ordered the wood fire bread with some antipestos - chicken pate, mushroom, salted beetroots, baratta cheese, and prosciutto. The bread was so delicious that we had to order a second one to eat with our antipasto dishes. They were all delicious, the pate was just a little salty but it was still delicious.

For main, we shared the Pappardelle, lamb ragu and 'little joe's' 800g bone-in sirloin along with 2 sides - rocket salad and broccolini between us 4 girls and it was more than enough, we were all too full to try any of their dessert dishes. We really enjoyed the lamb ragu and will definitely come back again to try their other pasta dishes and their desserts.

The only downside of this place is their service. The waiter and waitress that served us wasn’t attentive. When we were seated, the waitress has asked us if we would like still, tap or sparkling water. About 10 mins later, another staff came and asked if we would like still, tap or sparkling. Once we’ve placed our food order, our wood fire bread and antipesto came out and our water hasn’t came out. It was very hard to get the staff’s attention to order our drinks when we wanted to order extra drinks. Towards the end of the dining experience, we wanted a doggie bag to take the bone home for our dog. They took the plates in and said they will do it for us when we said we can do it ourselves. It took 2 waitresses to come out to double check with us on the doggie bag. However, when we came home. They placed 1 slice of sirloin in a small take away box, with no bone. What are we gonna do with that 1 slice of meat? What a joke. Beside that, the service of the food was fast. We did not have to wait long to recieve our entrees and mains. We will try totti’s again but probably in a different location due to...

If you thought Bar Tottis in the CBD was nice, this establishment presents greater character and class. There are two distinct areas. One side has the beach house wine with summery coastal decor such as white wooden furniture and plants, whereas the other side is dim and moody with jazz bar vibes (as pictured). We didn’t have a reservation for Saturday lunch so we arrived at 11:50am and were the first ones there. We greeted by the lovely staff and promptly seated at the “jazz bar” side upon opening. I personally felt that the other (brighter) side would have been nicer for lunchtime, however, we were pretty happy to get a table. The food was fantastic as always. We ordered the bread with sides of burrata, prosciutto and tomatoes. For mains, we got the crab linguine and prawn cresta di gallo to share. Don’t forget to ask for a side of house chilli oil and Parmesan cheese, as it really elevates the pastas. We also each ordered a nice cocktail to celebrate. The food was a good amount for three people and unfortunately, we were all too full for dessert. The restaurant was full by 12:30pm and due to the busyness, we felt that the restaurant waitstaff had to be called a few times for water and chilli oil. However, the overall experience was still very pleasant and I would highly recommend it 😊 As others have mentioned, parking is quite limited and we parked on Darling St. However, at 11:45am there were still spots along Belmore St, so do try your luck. I would recommend booking but if you don’t manage to get a booking, then try to arrive before opening time. Their main entrance is on Evans St, however, there is also a side entrance on Belmore St.
