I really wanted to like this place because it's convenient to stop in when I'm shopping, but it wasn't what I was hoping for. I really liked the tea. It comes in a cute matching pot and tea cup set. It's also loose leaf tea, which is excellent. However, the food is a bit of a disappointment. They have fresh sourdough and it's not over toasted, which was good, but that's about as good as it gets for the food. The scrambled eggs were hard little bullets and the hollandaise sauce tasted like it came from a packet. The mushrooms were barely cooked and had no additional flavour or caramelisation. After ordering, I was informed that they were out of hash browns (despite being literally 10m from a supermarket) and that I would need to make a substitution. I asked for tomatoes instead. When the meal arrived, it included 6 cherry tomatoes halved and placed around the plate. From the picture on the menu, these tomatoes came with the eggs on toast. I was expecting halves of cooked tomatoes. I paid an extra $7 for 6 cherry tomatoes and a couple of raw mushrooms. Oh well.

Probably the most affordable high tea you can find in Sydney ($38/pp)! The cakes and finger food are served in a pretty display stand, which makes it perfect for taking photos! Each person can choose their own tea/ coffee, I love the iced coffee frappe which was served in a nice big glass 😊 Good selection of petit fours and food taste was not bad, though I wish the sandwiches were abit more savoury to balance out the sweetness of cakes 🍰

Two Deers cafe is located on level 5 of Parramatta Westfield, just outside of Aldi. There is very limited seating, and all tables are for two. The smashed avo on toast with additional poached egg I ordered for Sunday breakfast turned out to be very basic with a modest price to match. The white bread slice was very poorly toasted and it appeared no additional seasoning was used on the dish. Satisfactory if you are looking for a cheap bite.

I was skeptical that the matcha would be to my liking, as I have a preference for a strong and full bodied flavour and most cafes tend to be very light handed with the matcha and heavy handed with the milk. But, I was pleasantly surprised by the depth and strength of the matcha at this cafe. I had a nice conversation with the owner about where he sources his matcha from and he was very happy to share with me the matcha he used (which was a good quality rather pricey one) and why he selected that one for the cafe. Very thoughtful and...

Went for the high tea for two that people rave about. Food was mid at best. Three tiny toasted sandwiches which tasted stale as if they had been out all morning. Ordered an english breakfast tea for two and didn’t receive it until after our food was cold. In addition to this, I had to ask multiple times to get a second tea cup for my friend even though we had ordered the tea for two. Not much atmosphere with the crazy Parramatta weekend crowd. No decorations for mother’s day like the Burwood cafe. Don’t waste...
