Loved this place! Incredible cat cafe with a variety of Furry personalities.
The ground rules and environment is very friendly and careful towards that cats, ensuring they areant under stress and enjoy their time as much as the visitors to their playground We arrived extra early for our appointment but was let in early, greeted by the sweet pup "Pavlov" and the lovely worker.
Once inside we had a blast. My partner and I spoke with the worker who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The cafe is full of amazing cat climbing posts that run the full length of the walls and across the top. Beds and little vantage posts are galore and during our time we got to see some speedy zoomies across the cat ninja obstacle course!
Cat Cafes are tricky and can be used more for business than the care for cats. Not Yumiao though, this cat cafe truly feels like a loving home for a group of gorgeous cats that are getting all their needs met and every ounce of care to thrive.
Pepper was the first sweet kitty to approach and give us some cuddles, but sesame warmed up and demanded belly rubs from me and stole my heart.
I can't recommend this cafe enough and it is well worth a...
Read moreChecked out Yumiao Cat Cafe for the second time over the weekend and honestly didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. I’m not even a huge cat cafe person, but this one actually felt calm, clean, and well-run. It doesn't have that neglectful sad or chaotic energy you sometimes get at other animal cafes.
You get a drink included with entry and the cup looked cute as well.
The real highlight though was the cats — all 10+ of them. Most of them were chill or playful and are kind enough to let you pet them. None of them seemed stressed or over-handled, which says a lot about how the staff run things.
We timed our visit for the weekend feeding session and it was worth it. You could really see their personalities shine — the greedy ones fighting over food and the shy/slow eaters.
The whole place felt peaceful. Not too many people crowding the cats (because of the enforced session ratio), and the environment was super aesthetic — minimal, clean white space, and places to sit or chill without feeling rushed.
Would I go again? Yeah, probably. Especially if I need a serotonin boost. Bonus points if you’re a cat person, but even if you’re not, it’s an...
Read moreUpdate 4/10/23: thanks so much for your response, appreciate that you took the time to communicate this to the staff involved. Other than the interactions with one human, the rest of the experience was absolutely delightful. Have upgraded review to 5 stars. I know it's tough running a small business, especially one where it's a labour of love. Really appreciate the work you put into this beautiful place that brings so much joy to everyone. Gorgeous cat cafe soured only by one completely disengaged staff member, who gave her name as Sayuki (she had an US/Canadian accent). Her disdain and contempt for visitors was immediately evident; she could barely make eye contact when handing over the toilet keys. Greeted walk-ins with, "HAVE YOU GOT A BOOKING?" before promptly turning them away. The attitude and approach soured an otherwise pleasant experience. She appeared to be the manager on site, directing other staff without so much as a thanks. It was very uncomfortable to observe.
I tried contacting Yumiao to give this feedback discreetly but owner was never onsite...
