This place is the perfect place for chasing sunsets, or even a date night or after-work drinks. It's on Level 12 of the Hotel, and it's high up, offering breathtaking views of the Darling Harbour precinct. It usually caters to their in-house guests, the majority being corporate. With this in mind, the cost of food and beverage is on the expensive side. It's expected at a 5-star establishment. So, make sure you come prepared regardless if you're inhouse or not, and you're all set! On this occasion, it was just a quick catch up with a work colleague of mine. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the floor staff and then seated. It was already full at that time. There was a group function on one side of the room, making it hard for my colleague and I to understand each other. It was bearable in the end. There's an extensive menu of drinks and some snacks to keep you going. For drinks, we ordered Fire on Ice to share. For food, we got a serving of Turkish Flatbread with two dips on the side that were sweet potato and eggplant. They were really good. Staff are friendly. From time to time, service can be slow. It's hard to get the attention of a floor staff to come to serve you if you haven't ordered in a while. I had to physically jump out of my seat a few times to make it obvious. Otherwise, everything else was good. Nice ambiance. Clean facilities. Beautiful decor. There are gas heaters on each side of the room that keep you warm on a cool day. Overall, the highlight was the location. Happy to come back here again!

After three days of a mind-numbing conference at the Hyatt in Sydney, I decided to reward myself to Zephyr Bar. And let me tell you, this place is a slice of heaven perched above the chaos of Darling Harbour! The panoramic view? Absolutely stunning. It’s like Sydney decided to put on its best dress just for me. The city skyline lit up like it was auditioning for a postcard, and the sparkling waters of the harbour looked like they were sprinkled with fairy dust. I half expected a dolphin to pop up and wink at me. Now, here’s the real MVP of my Zephyr experience: Annmarie. She wasn’t just good; she was proactive. The kind of proactive that makes you wonder if she’s secretly a mind reader or if she’s been trained by the FBI in Seattle. She seemed to know exactly when I needed a refill, a snack, or just a moment of solitude to contemplate my life choices. I didn't have to say much – a raise of an eyebrow, a slight tilt of the head – and Annmarie was on it like a ninja bartender. Smart, sharp, and always one step ahead. By the end of the evening, I was relaxed, sipping my beer and feeling like the King. If you’re looking for a place to unwind after a hectic event, or just to feel fancy for a bit, Zephyr Bar is where it’s at. And if you’re lucky, Annmarie might just be there to take care of you too! Cheers to good views and great service!

5 star views, 1 star service. There were 10 people “serving“ but more interested in taking selfies than looking after guests. After taking away my empty glass, I was not offered another drink. When I asked to see the drink menu again, staff were again too busy huddling behind the bar taking selfies to come back and take my order. In so many ways the service was abysmal. In the direct, unapologetic afternoon sun, we requested water to go with our food & drinks. It was served from a plastic container that was also in the direct sun the entire afternoon and tasted like water from a bottle left in the sun in your car. After bringing their attention to the disgusting water, the waitress tried it and wholeheartedly agreed with us, replacing it with water from elsewhere. An hour later when we requested a top up, we were served water by a different waitress again from the same plastic container that was undrinkable and hadn’t been emptied. We should not have to feel uncomfortable and request a 2nd time for fresh water. Not a pleasant experience. The DJ had the music so loud, we were shouting to communicate. Not ideal for chilled sunset cocktails. And beware, the arancini were served so hot, they literally burnt our mouths. After that we couldn’t taste anything. Needs a manager to reflect the quality of the hotel and the prices you pay.

I've given it a 1 star rating purely based off the view otherwise if there was an option it would be 0! Everything else was appalling if I'm being completely honest I have been here once before as well and had a bad night too! Upon arrival the man who let us in was quite rude and snappy and for a moment I didn't even thin he was going to let us in! (great start to the night). The bartenders behind the bar didn't seem to know what they were doing and there was a whole mosh pit of people waiting to order at the bar because of the slowness of staff. Not to mention as we were waiting at the bar, one of the staff shoved me out of the way to take a payment from someone! Staff are extremely rude and legit all they want is your money. We then sat down and were ready to order some food. It literally took about 40 minutes before we could even get staff to take our order and then once we ordered it took another 30 minutes for the food to come. So slow! The food was below average as well, especially for the price! Oysters were tiny not even worth $2 each and the antipasto board was not great either. Something that could be made at home in about 5 minutes with stuff from Coles, just bread, cold meats and olives! Again, not worth the price! Towards the end of our night my sister and I were at the bar wanting to order one last drink when some little man who worked there and didn't speak very good English came up to us and said we needed to leave! I politely asked why as I was quite shocked and he replied: "I'm asking you to leave". Just like that, after we had paid for our drinks and everything! They were clearly just kicking people out who were not intending on spending more money! Not to mention absolutely everything is overpriced and the atmosphere was just bland and very uncomfortable for all of us! Overall, this rating is to warn people wanting to go to Zephyr Bar NOT TO because you will NOT enjoy yourself and you will regret it! For the price and quality of drinks/food, places like Lil Darlin and Zeta Bar are 100 times better and the staff are not arrogant and rude! My opinion, don't waste your time and those who have rated this place as good must be the staff because everyone I...

Zephyr Bar, located on Sussex Street in Sydney, is a sleek and stylish rooftop bar that offers a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere with stunning views of the city skyline. Whether you're visiting for after-work drinks, a casual night out, or a special occasion, Zephyr provides the perfect setting to unwind while enjoying a drink in a contemporary and chic environment.

The bar's design is modern and elegant, with floor-to-ceiling windows, cozy seating areas, and an open-air terrace that makes the most of its prime rooftop location. On a clear evening, the view of the Sydney skyline is absolutely breathtaking—ideal for watching the sunset or simply soaking in the city lights as night falls.

Zephyr’s cocktail menu is innovative and well-crafted, with a selection of signature cocktails that combine fresh ingredients and creative twists on classics. Their cocktail list offers something for everyone, from refreshing spritzes to rich and flavorful concoctions, and the bartenders are skilled at tailoring drinks to your preferences. They also have an impressive selection of wines, craft beers, and non-alcoholic options, ensuring all guests are catered to.

While the drinks are undoubtedly the highlight, the food menu is also worth noting, offering a selection of delicious tapas-style plates perfect for sharing. The food pairs beautifully with the drinks, with options ranging from light bites like bruschetta and charcuterie to more substantial options like sliders and grilled seafood.

Service at Zephyr Bar is attentive and friendly, with the staff striking the right balance of being professional without feeling too formal. Despite the upscale setting, the vibe is relaxed, and you're made to feel welcome whether you're popping in for a quick drink or settling in for a longer evening with friends.

Overall, Zephyr Bar is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy great drinks, great food, and a great view in a trendy, sophisticated space. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like you're treating yourself to something special, and with its unbeatable rooftop views, it's certainly one of the more memorable spots in Sydney to enjoy...

This place definitely looks better in the photos. The problem is that in the photos it looks very sleek and sexy like something you’d expect to find in America or Europe - but when you get there it’s kinda small, and the furniture is very weathered looking.

Maybe it’s Because we went at sunset? Perhaps the place is better at night when you don’t notice the weird layout of the place?

But what you do notice are the crazy prices and I couldn’t help but feel like the staff were pushing their extortionate cocktails down our throats. I’m not a cocktail person at all - but it seemed like they were really pushing those slushies! The bench where we sat had alittle bit of a sticky dirty feel. The cheap cardboard coasters - definitely didn’t sit well with me considering the prices?

There isn’t any loud and obnoxious music, well at least not on the night I went - Sunday. This was great!!!

But ....

the prices of the drinks are ridiculous and the menu is also alittle ridiculous- it’s just alittle extreme. Pages and pages of varying spitits, gin and vodkas from all over the world??? Unnecessary. The cocktails however - amazing - so creative... but expensive.

The strange this about this place is that it lacks sophistication - despite going there for its sophistication. I feel like it needs - a saxophone player or something. Better interior layout and design, better comfortable seating. I know some might argue that the view is the CinemaScope and that would be true if they had seats that were comfortable enough to enjoy it.

Again perhaps this place is better at night?

The tall chairs they have prodded by the balcony are these hard wooden chairs you would find in a basic suburban pub. They were uncomfortable and chunky. You couldn’t really sit back in them and enjoy your drink and the view.

Something was alittle off about this place - I’m not exactly sure if it was the prices and the menu that rubbed me the wrong way or that I was expecting so much more than what it was from the amazing photos it advertises.

Probably a combination of both.

Would I give it another go - yes I’ll edit my review if I...
