FORFEITED OUR MONEY and didn't offer any option!!! BEWARE
My friend and I had a dinner cruise booked for 21 December 2023 with journey beyond. Unfortunately, owing to our cab being cancelled three times by Uber, we were stuck at a place for over 45 mins thereby meaning we couldn't make it to board the cruise in time. On calling the customer service staff, we were clearly told they can't do anything as they have to leave port in time. On enquiring of refund options, they said it's forfeited as a policy. We then requested if there is any other port we could board from apart from Darling harbour, and they declined. We even requested if we could shift the date to some Other date but Nada!!
The worst customer service experience ever when we had no option if that day city cabs were so uncooperative. Instead of understanding our situation we were just declined for each request or option we asked for… forfeiture of all$360! Two kids with us were almost in tears and upset..
This was after we spoke to customer service staff and her supervisor… absolute nonsense scripted apologies which felt completely empty… almost felt as if we were made fun off or they were trying to reflect upmanship.. Horrendous!
Since we didn't want to miss the experience we booked again with Captain Cook and enjoyed our dinner on 24 December... Only to Realise that cruise does have another stop at circular quay…
Wonder if “Journey Beyond” 3 hrs trip doesn't even stop at a port... Which was one option we asked for!!
May be those who board the cruise enjoy the experience but I for sure will discard this service each time I meet any potential traveller. Thankfully I live in Sydney so I will be able to do justice to my horrible experience and my friend from Dubai with me at that time was appalled by this...
Read moreWhat a nightmare. We arranged to travel to Sydney from New Zealand to meet our friends who had traveled from the UK to meet us for my husband's 70th Birthday dinner and we thought this dinner and harbour view would be perfect for our English friends. We are all business people and we sat next to an American couple, both doctors also celebrating the husband's 70th Birthday. It was all very civilized. Lovely conversations. Until the French waiter, 4 months experience in Australia, decided that he didn't want to serve us and accused us of being drunk. We were so shocked. We asked to see his supervisor who then came up to the top deck to speak to us and before even seeing or speaking to us , he came to our table and told us that the waiter said we were drunk and we wouldn't served more alcohol. When his supervisor realized we were NOT drunk they then continued service. Then the French waiter complained again and refused to serve our food. By then we probably had had 2 glasses of wine each and we had asked for more. This whole experience completely ruined my husband's birthday and of the American couple next to us as we were treated so badly by staff. We have all traveled the world and I can only guess with the drinks being part of the dinner package that they were trying to save money or the French waiter was just too lazy and dramatic. To top it off when we disembarked to the. Viaduct to go and have a nightcap in the bars. We were not given entry. We can only guess because we had complained about the terrible treatment that our description had been sent to those bars. Check out my other Google reviews. You will see they...
Read moreTL;DR: Canceled on us and kept our money!!! Beware!
Booked a cruise with lunch for my February honeymoon. Journey Beyond reached out to us to cancel the cruise due to low attendance. They offered to reschedule us but we were leaving Sydney so couldn't do any of the other days they offered. They said they'd give us a refund but since we paid with American Express, they had to do it via bank transfer. Who has heard of a company not refunding your original payment method? We had to fill out a complicated form with all of our bank details and send it to them (felt sketchy). The transfer failed. We tried again. They only process refunds once a week and are very slow to communicate so sometimes the amount of time in between attempts has been two-three weeks. It has now been over two months of us trying to get our money back.
They initially seemed to be operating in good faith because even though it was slow between emails, they replied to our emails and were pleasant and seemed to be trying to help. They wouldn't do paypal, venmo, anything. I even asked if they could mail me a check or if i could come to the office to get a cash refund when I was in town. Nope. Had to be a bank transfer but it has failed over and over. We can't do a dispute with Amex because they charged us back in September when we booked and didn't cancel on us until February. And now they have stopped responding to my emails so I am basically giving up hope we will ever get our HUNDREDS of dollars back, and posting this review as a...
