We dined at this restaurant recently. I was really excited to book a table after reading the raving reviews online however I was disappointed. Our party of four sat down and the waitress poured glasses of water, but they poured so quickly it went everywhere but the glass. Unfortunately splashed over one of my party. Shortly after we ordered our drinks, and they were delivered incorrectly to our table. The beer was not the same beer as ordered, the Canadian Club was almost non existent among the dry ginger ale. I asked for a Midori however was met with “we do not have that”. I questioned further because it was on the menu, and the response I got was “I’ll check with someone”. This aside we gave the benefit of the doubt hoping the food would redeem the poor service. We ordered a sourdough cob loaf. It was delivered very cold to the table and the oil/vinigarette was minimal only a quarter of the bread lasted the condiment. Cold loaf of bread didn’t really get any praise at our table. The mains arrived. It took 3 staff members to actually work out which dish belonged to who. My suggestion here is to avoid the embarrassment and simply just ask who has X meal. I had the salt and pepper squid, it was dry and flavourless. The best part of the dish was the pickled cucumber. All other members of the party had steak. My fiancé asked for medium well and it definitely came medium rare. My Mum asked for medium and that also came medium rare and cold. My Dads meal seemed to have been somewhat alright despite the “surf & turf” being very basic - an expensive upgrade at $11 (not worth it in my opinion) and the sauce which just didn’t go. It would have been much better off being a creamy garlic sauce. Once the meals were finished our plates were cleared and we declined the dessert menu, instead happily asked for the bill. Well we waited, and waited, and waited. We waited so long that the table which started eating as we finished actually got their bill and paid for it before ours arrived, we had to prompt a second time. Overall the guest experience here leaves a lot to be desired. The staff are running around at a pace that is ridiculous and uncomfortable. Almost “speedy” running around and slamming items on the table, I can’t forget the manager actually walked into a table. It was obvious the staff on the floor were struggling. The manager decided to have a 5 minute conversation with the table next to us who paid before us and it actually took us to get up and walk to the front counter for another staff member to serve us. Only then the manager decided to leave his conversation and race over to take over from the staff member. Service really needs to improve at this restaurant and the staff need to take into consideration the guest experience and comfort. We wont be coming back and won’t be recommending this...
Read moreExtremely disappointed. Poor and rude service. Do not recommend.
Made a reservation 1 day in advance ,was asked on the phone any special note and request.
I said pls reserve 1 order of beef Wellington.
Arrived the next day 10mins early, was pouring outside. No one greeted us while we waited at the front door. Waited around few mins, and were told you are early, can you wait until your reservation time. Which were 10mins away, while there were several empty table around.
The manager finally greeted us at 19:30, he checked the computer and couldn't find my name. And strangely he said my reservation was cancelled. I did not get any notification at all. He seems not bothered and said doesn't matter we have a empty table for you.
When I order my meal and advised that beef Wellington were sold out. The waiter said beef Wellington is limited each night, serving around 10 orders. I told him this was not mentioned on the phone, website the moment I made the reservation. Also, special request has been placed. Again, the waiter seems not bothered and said there is no such thing as special order.
I end up order a pretty average rib eye steak and duck breast. Food was avaerage, price is fair .
When I pay my bill, the manager clearly again not bothered with any service and dared to ask if I want to tip the team. He did not smile and thank us at all. Again ,extremely rude.

Read moreJust shows how different people have different perceptions. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend. I had to entertain an overseas visitor, so I took the recommendation. Gosh, what a disappointment. Service was quite quick (restaurant was only 30% full on Sat night)...but not warm and engaging; actually quite sterile and cold. At the grille were a group of what I assume to be the chefs, dressed like butchers' apprentices. Tub-style chairs were too low for the tables (think of your elbows in the air while you hack through your dinner). Atmosphere slightly like one of those cheap quick-eat places in Latin America...where you pick your meats, then the chef cooks them over an open flame. The steak (rib-eye, at $48.00 each!!!) I ordered medium-rare, was cooked properly as medium-rare but was a very poor cut, filled with gristle and fat. I ate only 60% of it. It was presented 'pub-style', the dinner plate having one of those little china gravy-boat things on it, filled with a mass-produced mushroom sauce which tasted terrible. The rest of the plate contained a dollop of unremarkable mash pressing up against the gravy-boat. As a side, (again, presented 'pub-style') was a small unmatching plate containing slightly warm uncooked beans and broccoli sprinkled with sliced raw almonds. All-in-all, a VERY EXPENSIVE mistake. We left the restaurant and walked to Oxford street where we bought a hamburger and...
