Quite sad about our experience here on Valentine's Day 2025. I ordered the rice bowl chicken meal and after eating 1/4 of the bowl, I found a dead fly mixed into the pre-made shredded chicken. After alerting the staff to what we found, they took my bowl away and that was the end of it. After sitting there awkwardly for 10min thinking someone would come back out to talk to us, nothing eventuated so we left. I was left hungry and disappointed. As someone who has worked in high end restaurants before, things can happen and bugs can end up in food during meal prep, but to pretend nothing happened and wish us well as we left is not okay. I really try to avoid doing 1 star reviews, but after no apology and my partner leaving a low review to hopefully get their attention, still nothing. Really sad because the food was lovely until this point. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes and don't ruin the experience for someone else.
Update to reply - We did make the team aware, and nothing eventuated as both mentioned in our reviews. It is the job of the staff member who took the bowl away to alert staff and the kitchen. Like mentioned, we do not like doing negative reviews but after being sad telling our experience to other business owners and friends, we realised how we should have been offered compensation with food replacement or at least a refund (the food was so lovely until...
Read moreThe initial service by the server on the register was lovely. Also, the other server who delivered our food was kind. However, the pricing on the menu and pricing was incorrect. Chips - Large - $7 is what the menu stated. I purchased 2 large chips and paid $18. I queried this after I paid, as I had re-read the menu to make sure. The server was kind and apologised and advised that he would ask the manager, and they would come out to discuss. The manager never did, so I went back inside after an hour of sitting down, waiting, and eating our chips. I went inside as we were leaving to see if the manager was ready yet. I asked her about the pricing, and they said yes, they know its incorrect. It will be changed later. I stated that there was an extra $4 I had paid, as the menu says $7. Then she stated that, yes, big bowls are $10 each. I was charged $9 per large bowl of chips. So which is it? $7, $9 or $10? That was all I got from her. No apology, no refund for the difference of the advertised price. Nothing. With the cost of living and dining out, it might not be essential for everyone to budget down to their last few dollars, but for my children and I, it is. To have no apology or offer, and just an akward blank stare from her until I walked away was uncomfortable. I am assured I will not be recommending...
Read moreWe stopped in at 9:30 on the first Monday of school holidays. There were plenty of tables inside and outside.
The options for breakfast and lunch were varied and tempting and the choices for beverages had anyone covered.
There was a lovely, intimate feeling. We chose to sit outside and this was cool and comfortable.
The coffees arrived quickly and we both enjoyed ours - flat white and a dirty chai latte.
The food wasn’t far behind. My beautiful wife had the pancakes and those were light and perfectly done, with berry spread, bacon and maple syrup.
My big breakfast was incredible. EVERYTHING on the plate had no doubt been carefully chosen and lovingly prepared. The baked beans had a pocket zing and the bacon had crunch, as well as suppleness.
The staff were very friendly and nothing was a problem.
A superb dining experience.
Edit:
We loved it so much that we went back the next day! My angel on Earth had the mushrooms and very much enjoyed the cheese and beetroot flourish.
I had eggs Benedict with both bacon and salmon, because, why not? It was again superb, with everything cooked perfectly.
We both agreed that our coffees were even better than the lofty heights...
