Fitzy's Toowoomba — Restaurant in Toowoomba City

I have sadly had to change my review after being here yesterday and a week earlier. Yesterday I went to have lunch with my partner, we got our meals, mine didn’t have the balsamic dressing I specifically asked for when ordering and paying. So I asked the waitress for the dressing, whilst waiting and my partner finishing his meal, the bar tender came over and said I am so sorry but I didn’t charge you for the sauce, so you need to pay for it…so his stuff up, my meal not how I ordered it, and then the audacity to not bring the dressing out until I paid for it, WOW 😮 so then he said it’s alright pay after, dressing didn’t arrive so I walked from the top of pub down to the bottom kitchen section asked about my dressing, and they said we can’t give it to you u til you pay for it, what sort of ridiculous poorly managed, untrained staff and rudeness is this? In the meantime I am left with not what I ordered and paid for and angry and hungry, I asked for a refund as it really put me off the fact that they stuffed up, didn’t charge me and then treat me like a lepper, and I have been to this place and recommended so many times! The meal the week before with my mother and sister, was average. Not impressed at all.

Best meal I’ve had in along time at any venue! I was thoroughly impressed. There was a live musician playing great, family friendly music. We didn’t have a booking but they made no fuss and managed to get us a table right away. Young man who served us was very polite and helpful. Ordered the kids menu steak and chips for my daughter, I was very impressed, and I’m fussy when it comes to steak. Surprisingly, for a thin slice of steak (remember, kids menu), it was cooked perfectly. Cheesy garlic bread was great, my wife and I ordered sirloin and rib fillet, both cooked perfectly medium rare as requested. Mine had bay bug topper with brandy cream sauce which was to die for. Even the veges were impressive. Great atmosphere, I really enjoyed the vibe, the food, the service, everything was on point, and of course, the beer was cold! I will definitely be back, maybe as early as tomorrow night before heading back to Brisbane on Sunday. I don’t think anywhere else will beat the experience we had tonight. Dry martini was excellent l don't know the name of the person who came over to our table to engage and find out how I would like in great detail. I would say that it easily be the best I have ever experienced, every sip was a delight, ha which I kept commenting on to my husband.

I was really impressed with the wait staff both were very well trained in all manner of vocation. The first was also genuinely warm and conscientious and the second was also very good.

Salad and vegetables were both on point and between the chicken parmigiana and the rib eye fillet I would say my choice is the latter. I was impressed with how well to my liking it was cooked. I prefer my steak well done to medium not showing much pink. It was still really tender and the bit of fat and sinus was very tasty. Best steak I have had in a long time cooked this way. Often if you order a steak just off well done other places you get a steak cremated on the outside.
