Had one of the worst customer services from this place. I ordered coffee and cake & they packed them in a take away containers and refused to let me sit. Very unprofessional & disrespectful service. Would not recommend these people to anyone!!!
A little bit more contextt to your reply:
I went in to make the order just before the parade and since the parade already started while we waited I told the lady who took our order that we will come back after the parade. And she nicely accepted our request.
And after the parade we went to get our order and asked whether we could get a table as my parents were bit tired after standing. And yes I asked twice while I waited for the coffee whether I could sit on a table or whether you guys have any seating available at the upper floor. And I was NOT told that all the tables were pre booked. So that's why when I saw an empty table I went to sit there. And when you're team told me that we can't sit there we left without any fuss
Then the lady who came after me to put the order was not a customer who had a table reserved. But the cashier lady told her that she will get a table for her soon. So obviously you get my conundrum.
May be next time you have a busy day like this display a notice stating that no seating is available unless...
Read moreLow rating is due to extremely poor customer service. Considering this was during the Flower Festival makes the service inexcusable. My group of five, including two young children, called ahead to make sure you were open and asked to reserve a table. We were advised we can not book a table but can walk in. We said we were walking from the Botanical Gardens and would come directly. When we arrived I mentioned we phoned ahead and asked if we could have a table if available and was happy to wait for one. There was one available when we phoned ahead. The staff at the coffee machine heard the conversation and said to the staff serving me, tell her the kitchen is closed, (or something to that affect) in full view and earshot of me, without addressing me directly or offering the usual apologies. This scenario is an example of how to leave new patrons to your cafe and your city that you are showcasing...
Read moreAlthough it's long been a town favourite, my experiences at Jilly's have only gotten worse with time. The coffee quality ranges from average to awful, and the food from good to meagre. If all you're looking for is a friendly face and a warm mug, this place might be a 4/5, but anybody with higher standards should give this place a miss.
Recently I was served a plate of $15.90 calamari (pictured) which was very undercooked, springy with still raw batter. When we told the waiter, the plate was taken away from us, and the same plate returned to us, complete without the missing section of calamari we tested.
While Jilly's has seen some good days, the quality of the food and drink has never been lower, and the prices never higher. Unfortunately, I doubt I will be returning...
