I usually speak very highly of Kardinia Cafe. There food, prices, everything is great. Me and my partner usually go there every sunday for brunch/lunch. Either us on our own or meeting friends. We love that it is affordable while we are saving money, and always leaves us beyond full.
But the last two weeks, we have been left very disappointed. Sunday 9th july. We went there for lunch. Before we could even sit down, One of the female staff came straight up and said 'what do you want to eat!!!' She was so rude and not impressed when I asked if we could have a minute to read the menu (or to even take a seat) then my partner had go to the counter to politely ask if someone could please take our order as she never came back. I ordered a small pizza which took 30minutes to come as the lady didnt pass on my order to the kitchen staff... once we go our meals (which the food was fantastic thank you) the same waitress spoke very rudely to the table behind us when they asked for sauce (which they ordered) I was in complete shock when I herd the waitress tell the customer 'Dont be rude next time' as someone who works in retail, I know for a fact you should never talk to customers that way. Really really bad customer service!
Then yesterday, sunday 16th july. Me and my boyfriend decided to go back to Kardinia Cafe, despite the bad service we received the previous week.
We walked in, sat down, looked at the menu and were ready to place our order. As like every sunday we have been there, it wasn't overly busy. The same waitress was working, to busy in conversation with other staff to take our orders. We continued to wait. After waiting 15minutes to even order a coffee, the waitress then decided to clear tables around us. Not even acknowledge that we have been waiting 15 minutes.
Enough was enough. We decided we cant be bothered waiting for service anymore and decided the only option was to walk out, and find somewhere else to eat.

I recently ordered from your restaurant and had one of the worst food experiences ever. To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. The food you served was clearly stale and lacked any freshness whatsoever. It was evident that old ingredients were used, which is absolutely unacceptable for a business claiming to provide quality food.
I trusted your establishment to deliver a decent meal, and instead, you sent me food that was unfit to eat. As a paying customer, I expect fresh produce and attention to quality—not food that tastes like it's been sitting around for days.
To make matters worse, when I highlighted my concerns, the lack of courtesy and professionalism from your side was shocking. Instead of addressing the issue or offering a resolution, the receipt was marked with "RUBBISH"—an insult to me as a customer. This behavior is appalling and speaks volumes about your attitude toward customer feedback.
I urge you to take your quality control seriously and ensure your food is prepared with fresh ingredients. If you want to retain customers, start respecting them and their feedback instead of delivering subpar meals and dismissing their concerns with such rudeness.

Read moreLast night my daughter and her friends ordered $69 worth of food , it took 2 1/2 hours to arrive but after an hour they came and picked up the money , when the driver arrived my daughter did not want to take the food as it was cold and it was 2 1/2 hours and asked for the money back she was told to take the food and to ring the shop this morning the driver's name was Shazza!! Well when I rang this morning and asked to speak to the manager he hopped on the phone and I have never spoken to someone so rude in my life called me a liar and said the driver will tell a different story then told me what did I expect he had a very busy night with the footy on , and told me there was no way he was going to leave his pizza oven and burn his pizzas to speak to people like me on the phone last night who weren't happy so must've had a lot of people ringing , I told him that was the least of his worries, his attitude and the fact that the pizzas took 2 1/2 hours and were cold and sloppy I would be taking my business elsewhere from now on , what a rude arrogant man surprise he has any business left people of Geelong avoid this place...
