We went to Tempo Kitchen & Bar for our anniversary, which happens to be Valentine’s Day. I had booked ahead but mistakenly booked for 6:30am rather than 6:30pm (Tempo has breakfast sittings also). When we arrived we discovered the mistake but even though they were heavily booked, we were seated at a table outside with a lovely view of the Geelong foreshore. Our waiter for the evening was Jacob, a consummate professional, his observational skills were impeccable, checking in to confirm meals had been received, how they were, were more drinks required, but at appropriate intervals and in a discrete and non intrusive way. Nothing was too much trouble and even though they were completely run off their feet, not once did we have anything other than exceptional service. This service added completely another amazing dimension to our evening. We did have to wait a little bit longer for our main meals but we were kept updated on their progress, drinks were topped up and of course we had the view and a lovely vibe to the night. The food was utterly delicious, we shared Arancini and calamari for entree, and followed up with Scotch Fillet and Lamb Shoulder with sides of chats and greens. It was all divine but if I had to choose, the dish of the evening was the Lamb shoulder which was so full of flavour and melt in your mouth tender. We had the most lovely evening, the team at Tempo were fabulous, but a very special mention needs to be made to Jacob, who really made our evening fabulous. We will...

I cannot thank the staff enough for all the effort and hospitality they had gone through during our dinner at Tempo! The atmosphere was amazing and the view of the foreshore is absolutely gorgeous! It’s a beautiful establishment!
We had the privilege of having our own private space/room for our dinner of 10 (6 Adults & 4 Kids) which was extremely accomodating especially for our kids and super grateful to the team for that.
My family & I were blessed to be served by Ruby. She was kind and super attentive & made sure all our needs were met. Her knowledge of the menu was exceptional she really did make sure we had all our questions & requests to be taken care of. She’s great with kids and super thoughtful and considerate of our kids needs (e.g cutlery, seating). It felt really nice having her around my family, my daughter definitely enjoyed her company. Thank-you again Ruby.
We were greeted with a card signed by the staff as we were there to celebrate my son’s birthday, it was definitely a sweet gesture. Thanks again guys!
Other than the staff, service and the restaurant the food was absolutely fantastic. I personally loved the kids menu and how many other options there are then just “chips” as a side, I think that’s a great option.
Our guests loved the food. The wait time wasn’t long and the temperature of the food was perfect and we would definitely be back without a doubt.
Also Joey, thanks again for your warm hospitality and kindness.
Thanks...
Read moreVery average experience at Tempo for buffet breakfast. We were a family dining here for a special birthday. I had booked a week ago, when we arrived there was no signage indicating where to wait to be seated and no one came to greet us. We had to go to the bar to enquire on our own accord. Was told there was no booking under our name and that we would need to wait while a table was made up for us. We were not informed how the buffet works or what was included. The buffet itself was average. Food cold, no signage to Indicate what the food actually was. They had run out of spoons and was told they were all currently in the wash. Never saw any signs re: cook to order eggs or omelettes which is pretty standard at a breakfast buffet. Had to pay for proper tea and coffee. Tea on offer was a basic tea bag. Coffee machine was flashing up that it needed to be cleaned. Only full cream milk available for coffee machine .Customer service was lacking. No one really spoke to us at all. Had much better customer service at another local cafe where we went afterwards for coffee. Expensive for what it is. It was advertised online as x1 hot drink per person but I was told we would need to pay and could only access coffee machine as part of the buffet. After visiting many restaurants for buffet breakfast in the past, this was one of the worsts, which is dissapointing given the location and outlook. Won’t waste our money again but instead visit Maestro or RACV club Torquay for...
