I would love to give 5-star to this restaurant after reading the reviews, but we had an unpleasant experience with takeaway. We head there to get our takeaway pasta before our Ironman race and they told us it would take about 40 minutes. We had no alternative and after reading the reviews, we decided that it's worth waiting. They told us they will let us know when it's ready for pick up. After an hour, we decided to go back and check. Unfortunately they hadn't prepared it, they kindly apologized and asked us to wait 10 mins. We waited another 20 mins and after 1 hour 20 minutes we managed to get our 2 pastas. We stayed positive by thinking it must be good, let's not get stressed. We finally had our dinner around 9pm (we had to wake up at 3am for the race) and to be honest pasta wasn't good. Maybe it's better in the restaurant so don't want to rate the food itself but overall we had a very bad experience with our order. This also messed up our digestion before the race in the morning because 6 hours wasn't enough for the digesting the food. I can understand their busy kitchen with the demand but if that's the case, they should not promise to deliver simple takeaway pasta especially for the people who explicitly tell them it's critical to get the...
Read moreWe enjoyed our dinner at Al Forno many years ago. So, during a recent trip to Busselton, we decided drop by again. The boeuf bourguignon($32) was as delicious as before. However, the seafood linguine in marinara sauce was most disappointing. There was very little marinara sauce and it was thick, not saucy at all. It tasted as if it’s made from canned tomatoes. The prawns were unfortunately also over cooked. For $37.50, one would expect better quality from this seafood linguine dish. We also ordered their house fries($10.50) and pork crackle($9.50). The fries were slightly soggy but the pork crackle was simply inedible. This was the worst ever pork crackle! We 1st tried to break off a small piece of the pork crackle. When that failed, we tried to take a small bite off the pork crackle. The tiny parts we did manage to bite off, were hard and chewy. (if you’re familiar eating pork crackles - you know this is what happens if you leave the pork crackle out for a...
Read moreWe came here for dinner tonight the 1/2/19 at approx 1730. We were served by two ladies a young short slim girl with her hair tied back and an slightly older lady with bobbed hair. I hate it when I don’t grab people’s names. They were both excellent! Very attentive, but not over bearing. Assisting with high chair and toy. Mentioning the outdoor tables would catch the breeze. Clearly mentioning the specials, taking our order once and not needing repetition. Coming straight out with wine glasses when my they saw my husband return with BYO. So straight away a great experience. Food was excellent. Caprese salad was delicious, our mains of seafood linguine and scallops gnocchi also really nice, not stingy on the seafood like some places can be. Big on flavour. It’s not fine dining but that is great as it’s suitable to bring children at an appropriate hour, but the food is good and well priced. It’s a little gem I’d definitely frequent if I lived...
