Our family recently had the pleasure of dining at this newly refurbished Indian restaurant, and it’s safe to say we were enchanted. From the outset, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome—there was a generosity of spirit and hospitality that extended well beyond the expected. As a family, it can be rare to feel so at ease in a setting that aspires toward fine dining, but here, warmth and refinement coexist.

Each dish was presented with care and an unmistakable sense of pride. The butter chicken was one of the best we have had, with flavourful tandoor chicken and a rich and tasty sauce the kids especially loved. We also ordered the vindaloo, Goan fish curry, and rogan josh which were each standouts — perfectly spiced, with generous portions of tender meat, with accompanied by first class naans. We were also priveledged to sample some soup, lassi and a gorgeous dessert from their new fine dining menu. All were well crafted and delicious, with a well considered balance between traditional Indian elements and contemporary cuisine.

This restaurant offers expertly crafted dishes to delight your taste buds. All the dishes served were amazing. For starters. the chicken recheado tacos and paneer cafreal tarts were perfectly balanced in flavours, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with their exquisite Pirates Special cocktails. For the mains we had Chicken Cafreal, Goat Xacuti and Recheado brinjal. Every dish was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavour. The staff went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. Franky, Brendan and Robert looked after us very well and made excellent recommendations. Curry Pirates is hands down one of the best Goan restaurants in Scarborough! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming vibe that instantly made us feel at home.

The food was nothing short of exceptional — we thoroughly enjoyed the Chicken Xacuti, which had the perfect balance of spice and coconut, and the Goat Biryani, which was tender, aromatic, and packed with flavour. The Wheat Paratha was soft and flaky, and the Garlic Naan was perfectly crisp on the edges with just the right amount of garlic kick. Each dish truly reflected the authentic taste of Goa.

What made the experience even more special was meeting Robert and Brendon — it was such a joy to speak with you both in our native language, Konkani. That little touch of familiarity and shared culture made the meal even more memorable.
