After seeing the buzz on social media and reading what, in hindsight, was likely a paid write-up by Perthnow , we were intrigued by this place . It reminded us of one of our favorite sandwich spots in Italy, "All’Antico Vinaio." We thought that even if it was 70% as good, it would be worth the 40-minute drive to check it out. Unfortunately, the reality was a major letdown.
We ordered three sandwiches: the "Mr. Pistachio," the "Peri," and the "Truffle and Cheese." At $20 each, these sandwiches were on the expensive side. However, we were willing to pay if the quality justified the price. Sadly, it didn’t.
The bread was subpar—dense and heavy. The "Peri" sandwich was particularly disappointing, with dry, soggy chicken that tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. It had few other ingredients, making it a dry and unenjoyable task to finish. The "Truffle and Cheese" was the best of the three, but even it fell short of expectations and wasn’t worth the drive or the money.
Adding to the disappointment, we ordered two drinks—the Matcha and the Espresso Cream Latte. Both were almost entirely ice, with hardly any actual drink to enjoy.
Overall, the experience was a huge letdown. Given the high prices and low quality, I wouldn’t recommend this place, even at half the cost. Save your...
Read moreVisited this place on a Monday morning. The cheapest sandwich is $19, I took the prosciutto at $21. I waited more than 15 minutes even if there was 5 or 6 staff on because at least 2 of them were busy making picture for there social media so basically only one person making the sandwich. The bread was nothing special, no flavour, the prosciutto was in generous amount but cut very thick and poor quality prosciutto who gave a raw meet taste. The pesto was weirdly sweet and overall no great flavour and seasoning of the ingredients. It's a shame there is 2 basil tower inside, they just had to add some fresh basil from there.( instead of using it for social media).
The girl at the counter was so rude, I order twice, didn't get a hello or thank you. The fit out is full of stickers with the shop name but overall it feels missing personality and soul. Do yourself a favour, go across the road to harvest bakery, the ingredients aren't better quality but for nearly half of the price you will get one of the best home made baguette instead of paying for an instagramable expensive sandwich...
Read moreThis place has somewhat taken off through the roof! Went there today - didn’t have too long a wait to order three sandwiches 4 iced coffees and a small coffee $91, as a take away. We then proceeded to stand waiting for the order. About 20 minutes later the coffee orders were presented. We again waited about 15 more minutes, we were then presented with two sandwiches. We were told the third was being prepared in another section! About 10 minutes later we asked again. Keeping in mind we are standing in the full sun with 4 iced coffees! I drank my small normal coffee which I had ordered extra hot which was lukewarm! $8 for that! After a bit the young girl serving comes to tell us we had only paid for two not three sandwiches! So another over $20 and another wait. I told her by this time the iced coffees would be totally melted! Her response was oh well they will still taste the same! So over $100 for a few iced coffees and three sandwiches later, we eventually left! Very sad how in this town money has no value any more. What I’m trying to figure out is why are people queuing in...
