Specializing in ramen and classic Japanese snacks like gyoza and fried chicken, this place delivers on authenticity and flavor in every dish. The ramen here is phenomenal, with two standout varieties that will satisfy any ramen craving. The Beast Ramen is rich and hearty, featuring a pork bone marrow broth that’s beautifully thick and flavorful, with deep umami notes that keep you coming back for more. If you’re after something lighter with a unique twist, the Beast Black Ramen is a must-try. Made with a bonito and konbu broth, it brings a delicate smokiness and ocean-inspired richness that’s simply unforgettable. To pair with the food, Beast has a selection of Japanese beers and drinks, perfect for rounding out the experience. Everything here is incredibly fresh and prepared with an authentic touch that’s rare to find outside Japan. The dedication to quality is evident – they only make a certain amount of broth each day, so once it’s gone, it’s gone. Be sure to arrive early to avoid missing out on the best ramen in town! And don’t worry about getting sick of the same two ramen choices. There are lots of specials offering something different each week. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Japanese cuisine or trying ramen for the first time, Beast - Good Food Eatery is a must-visit.

Another great lunch experience in Wollongong. Ramen today. 2 different dishes on offer but opted for Beast Ramen. Pork, egg, shallots and noodles in a pork bone marrow broth. Because I'm greedy and curious, I also ordered the karaage chicken and the gyoza. Oh, and a bottle of Kirin Ichiban. Service was polite and friendly. The bill all up, around $75. Pretty happy at this point and not even eaten anything yet. The karaage chicken and gyoza came first. Both hot and very tasty. The karaage chicken had a good crunch and was really, really moist inside. About 1/2 way through eating the above, the ramen arrived. It looked good and smelled delicious. Great, silky looking broth. Generous amounts of pork, noodles and shallots. 1/2 an egg also (I'd have loved both halves but that might just be greed :) ) All together it was a really very well balanced dish. The broth really stodd out though - great depth of flavour and a lovely way of coating your whole mouth in porky goodness. Decent hip-hop playing throughout which was another big plus for me... Another place I'd recommend without a second thought. Such a shame there isn't one up on the Central coast....

Last week my husband and I tried a new ramen shop in Wollongong: Beast - Good Food Eatery. And let me tell you, the ramen there is perfection! As total ramen snobs (lived in Japan/travelled multiple times) we were so stoked to find an authentic joint close to home! They also do delicious karaage chicken (just like in Japan) and I’m planning on trying the teishoku set next week! The place is clean, airy and neat. And the staff are polite and friendly with quick service. I enjoyed finishing every drop of my ramen soup (the collagen is good for your skin 🥰) Gochisousama deshita!

edit to respond to owners reply Yes, I acknowledge we arrived late, however it is completely irrelvant since the other customers came in AFTER us (at least 15-20 mins after us). If they were there before we arrived then I totally understand what you're saying. Were we being punished for coming in late? I should add that we weren't even given a confirmed booking. When I phoned to book I was told that you would "try" to hold a table as you had a full house (which I agree is reasonable since you can't control how busy you are). . Finally, no there will be no next time and review has been adjusted due to the continued poor service received after providing this feedback.

Ok first thing first, we made a reservation because we wanted to try the ramen. When we got there, there were only a limited number of bowls left which meant we couldnt order ramen for everyone. After overhearing that there might be some extra tonkotsu ramen left over due to a miss order on another table, I checked to see if it was available and if we could order them. The response from the staff was that the customers that just walked in were after ramen so they will offer it to them first 🤨. I decided making a fuss was unnecessary but I don't understand how their priorities were higher than ours when we were there first and were both their after the same thing. Ramen is good here, the best in Wollongong. The bonito broth was flavoursome, some might find the fishy flavour a bit overwhelming. The tonkotsu broth was quite good but missing the fattiness that makes an outstanding tonkotsu broth. Overall, it's nice to see a decent ramen joint...
