Guzman y Gomez - Wollongong — Restaurant in Wollongong City Council

So ordered via menu log from the wollongong store came up with a two hour wait time decided to contact the restaurant via menu log was conferenced into the call. The workers on the phone were absolutely disgusting to the menu log rep the first girl hung up on her when she called back she was saying she didnt receive the order and refused to confirm the order number even though she heard it once. The phone was put down then someone else picked it up again the rep tried to explain the situation and that girl put the phone down then some man picked up was rude to the menu log rep apparently there was issues with the tablet freezing and he couldn't see the order. Ok I get restaurants can get busy and technology can fail that I do not mind but the customer service was disgusting . I have been to the one in shellharbour and have had no issues I don't mind waiting (just not two hours) but the phone mannerisms were horrible I actually apologised to the rep for having to deal with that. Not only will I not be eating there again I'll be telling everyone about that service it was not ok. GYG at Wollongong is among one of the best branch I visited from its franchisee. I have came to more than 4+ visit already. Their excellent service and quality of their service made it difficult for me not to leave a 5 star 🌟 review.

There are several key aspect they I notice from this GYG excels in:

The food when served to me by the staff has always been courteous and polite. Tacos are always filled and very full, full of flavour. I never feel cheaped out compare to the mediocre GYG I have been in the past. The staffs actively keep the table clean. Making it easy to find comfortable seats even at busy lunch or dinner time. The staff prepares food with the absolute best presentation. The food not only looks good, they taste fresh and seasoned just right. I always leave GYG Wollongong full and satisfied with every order.

Went in last night after a horrible day, so emotions were already high, to be fat shamed by one of the trainees. I ordered my burrito on its own first, he took a long time to do so as he was clearly a trainee I kept saying “it’s alright take your time” he upsold sour cream to me, so I thought I’d help him “look good” and added the sour cream. I then asked for it in a large meal so he took his time doing that and then I ordered an additional large fries (for someone else) not that it should matter. But when I added the large fries the boy (of Asian decent) swiftly replied “oh the burrito itself is already large and you have a large fries as well, you don’t need anymore” and scanned my body with his eyes. My instant response was “they’re not for me.” He added them, I paid and as I was sitting waiting for my order it really sunk in what had happened.
