RACIAL PROFILING AT THIS RESTAURANT: On 13th December i was waiting for my 18.25 flight Vienna to Paris, i was very hungry and luckily enough met a fellow Kenyan flying out to Belgium and her flight would leave a few minutes before me, we started talking and we decided to have dinner together at this restaurant as she was also quiet hungry. It must have been a few minutes before or after 5. We took a table to the left side of the entrance where the platform is raised. An older waiter, a man immediately approached us and demanded we go to the tables near the bar area, saying "Sorry we are very busy today!" (I AM NOT SURE WHAT HE MEANT BY THAT 🤔 ARE WE A BOTHER TO YOU? AN INCONVENIENCE? BUSY WITH WHAT IF NOT US CUSTOMERS AREN'T WE THE VERY CUSTOMERS THAT KEEP YOU BUSY!) He proceeded to ask us to leave the table as it was reserved. I pointed out that there was no reserve sign but he totally ignored me and pointed at the lower seats near the bar. We politely asked if we can have a different table for two still on the platform and he gave a firm "NO!" without even looking if any was available.
He was generally quite condescending towards us and you could see from his attitude and demeanour that he was sure we were not here to eat! WHICH HE WAS WRONG! IT WAS THE ONLY REASON WE HAD CHOSEN THIS PLACE OTHERWISE WE COULD HAVE GONE TO A COFFEE SHOP! We obeyed him and went down to the table near a swing-like-seat besides the bar and even before we could sit down, an elderly white couple asked him if any of the seats on the platform were free and HE SAID YES!!!!!!!!!!! THE VERY PLACE HE HAD TOLD US IS ALL RESERVED! And he proceeded to open the strap barrier for them to sit. At this point we just decided to politely leave as it was clear, our money was not needed here!!!! If you are a black traveller, be careful here!
My question to management is, do you train your staff to profile people based on their skin color? Their nationality? Is this the norm at your establishment? To assume people's spending power based on how they look and if they fit your stereotypes? Why could he not instead approach us and ask us,"Hi do you want to eat?" AND IF WE SAY NO then he can explain that the bar area is better for drinks! We would understand that the "better" tables on the platform are reserved for food. Anyone will understand this! But why just ask us to leave and LIE that they are all reserved! Is there a justification for this type...
Read moreToday, we experienced very rude behavior from one of your waiters. We waited for 25 minutes, from 17:00 to 17:25, and he did not approach us to take our food order. We had already closed the menu to signal that we were ready to order. When we finally requested his assistance, he promised to come but never did. Instead, he took orders from two other customers who arrived later. This left us feeling like we had encountered a unprofessional experience. The resturant was not busy so please don't say you are working on reducing service time like what you said to older google review comments.
Desperate for service, we approached a younger waiter from another section closer to the kitchen, and he kindly brought our dinner. Later, when we wanted to order dessert, we asked the same rude waiter, as he was closer to us, to take our order, but he responded, "No, ask the other guy, as you did before!" We even inquired with the more courteous waiter about his colleague's behavior, but he remained silent and appeared ashamed.
I am unsure how long this rude waiter has been with your restaurant, but I strongly believe that you should address such negative behavior for the sake of your establishment's reputation. Despite the disappointing service from this individual, I must mention that the food was excellent, and the other waiters were very pleasant.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and I apologize for the one-star rating, which I give to your resturant only because of your only single very rude waiter. The incident occurred on September 3, 2023, at 19:15, and the transaction amount was 69.00 euros.
Regarding the description of the rude waiter: He is approximately 185 cm tall and overweight. He was responsible for the back section, the area farthest from the kitchen and...
Read moreit is the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant in an airport. It took me 15 to 20 minutes for finding someone to order, I had been waiting until i had no time to wait and eat and went to the gate. At first you’ll wait at the table and find that no staff notices that you are ready to order even if you stare at them, or wave, you will not even have time to say excuse me because they walk so fast like the Flash around the restaurant instead of help you to order. And then you decide to orde rat the reception, lining up for a millions of year bcs they will go away every time they deal with one person, and back five minutes later for the next person. And when its your turn, they only repeat one sentense: order at the table. Then you start to wait at table again, and they never notice you but busy walking around:) There are approximately four staff for serving customers, each one seems to have multi-tasks to work. If ther is not enough staff then maybe the empoyer should think about hiring more employees, instead of letting customers who at first has plenty of time to have meals and then leave for the plane keep waiting for a century until they have no enough time. Please dont waste people’s time, unless there’s a...
