I ordered a beer and the käsespätzle (cheese noodles) from their “bier tapas” menu. The waiter brought me a huge portion, which I thought was quite funny considering it being categorised as tapas - I just thought to myself that tapas might have a different size in some Austrian restaurants. The dish was very tasty but also very heavy and their Zwickl beer was so nice. When I had to pay, I found out that they apparently must have käsespätzle written in two different places on their menu, because the price was now three times more than the dish I ordered. When I asked the waiter about why the dish was 3 times more expensive then the one I ordered, he just asked me very angrily “why didn’t you tell me that you ordered from the tapas menu?” I told him that I did, but because he didn’t see me pointing on the käsespätzle under the tapas menu when I ordered, he refused to let me pay for the tapas version, even though it was his mistake not to make me aware of their two versions of käsespätzle. The experience with the waiter was so unpleasant that it left me in a very...

I was in the restaurant waiting for a table I was sent from floor to floor by different waiters who told me I should look at the different tables and continue searching.
Eventually we saw a group leaving and given we were already waiting for a while we asked a female waitress if the table was available as she put a sign of reserve. She said it’s reserved for the people looking for a table (we thought like us), so we decided to take a seat.
I asked my son to rest since he was feeling very sick. As the woman came back and saw me and my friend speaking in Spanish she had a different attitude and told us if don’t understand what reserve means to which I replied yes and in GERMAN as I fluently speak. Since we were waiting for the table we sat down.
She started treating as badly. I explained I have a sick child but she kept being unfriendly. I let her know that unfortunately for people like you I’m having a very unfriendly experience in Graz . I said I hope if she has a child the child is never sick, the woman proceeded to tell me indeed I have a child and he is sick at home because I know that kids should remain at home if they are sick.
I have just arrived in Graz, as soon as we go out of the car my son started feeling sick just so this RACIST person treated us that way saying I don’t know what to do when my kids are sick! NOT OK 😡😡😡
I have eaten previously in this restaurant but always with locals….
SI NO ERES LOCAL, NO RECOMIENDES - RACISMO.
Read moreOn our way to Lublana from Vienna we have decided to stop for an early dinner in Graz. Wanting to compare a veal winner schnitzel to one made from pork we have ordered that as well as German Mac& cheese popular in Austria finishing with desserts. For me apricot knedle and an apfelstrudel for my companion. The schnitzel though tasty wasn't much different from polish schabowy, while Mac&cheese though delightful was quite heavy. The portions were enormous! As for the deserts: strudel was disappointing due to a little too doughy dough, but the knedle was amazing - just what was needed after all that cheese (a little but sour which cut perfectly through the fat from the previous dish).
All in all pleasant. If you are starving it is ideal to satiate your hunger, if looking for a light meal, well... :D
What is a big plus is the location - the restaurant is situated among low storied houses, on a platz, underneath a historical clock with automatons emerging from within, at each full...
