When I see something really good, I want to share it. I found this restaurant on Google and it is the closest restaurant to my hotel across the river. I first went to a neighborhood chinese restaurant called Lin Box to Go. It is a good restaurant with 4 seats but a bit too far away. The restaurant is well situated in the heart of Graz . A worker told me the restaurant was opened a little more than a year ago. I was looking around and a Chinese explained to me how it works. A large bowl costs 9.9 Euros. A slightly smaller costs 8.90 Euros and I can fill the bowl. I saw people filling the bowl to the brim, including one lady that kept pushing down the food. At first I doubt if it is any good. After all, buffet food is never any good but this is an exception. Because of the high customer rate and turn over, the dishes were never emptied. I sat inside the spacious seating area with back pillows and the worker constantly bringing out plate after plate so the food is prepared moments ago.
The taste is exceptional. It is not too salty, nor oily and it has 3 or 4 sauces if you like. For 9.90 Euros, you can have fried shrimp, pan fried shrimp , stuff crab leg claw. One can essentially fill the whole bowl with shrimps for the same price but please don’t that because the owners need to make a profit too. A McDonald meal will cost that much money. I had a croissant and a coffee and it was 8 Euros. A burger costed me 9.10 Euros (granted, I was in Hallstatt, a super touristy place with astronomical prices . Even the use of toilet there costs 1 Euro ). This price is so low that I felt bad for getting so much that I had left over for another meal. On top of that, sweet and sour soup is included. You can get a to go bag , chop sticks , forks , spoon and napkins. Inside the restaurant , they have a stack of napkins in case you needed more. The restaurant sells a variety of drinks and package noodles and snacks. The shelves are brightly lit and very conducive to buying. I just admired the variety the products there. The bathroom is clean and the paper towels for drying didn’t run out. I ate there twice in 2 days. If I stay longer, I would go there every day. I love their ducks, broccoli, dumplings, beef, …everything. The name of the restaurant in Chinese is 美食 meaning delicious food and it definitely lives up...
Read moreFirst day we dropped in and took some already made sushi boxes and a couple of onigiris to go.
Sushi was okay, better than supermarket sushi, but what I was really blowm away with was onigiri. The wraps they come in are designed to keep the nori sheet from getting soggy so once unwrapped you get that fresh crunch which was amazing. The only thing that frustrated me a bit was when opening the wrapper, the string doesn't cut it all the way around, so I ended up breaking one of the onigiris, and dropping about a quarter of it on the ground.
We had salmon, tuna and ume onigiri, and all of them were very delicious.
We aldo returned the second day to pich some stuff for the road, and we tried a couple of poke bowls. They were also delicious and filling, especially when you consider the prices. The only thing I would avoid in my future poke bowl is cubed pineapple which was woody and pretty tastles. But all in all, a pretty good experience.
Would love to come back and try some of...
Read moreI got the biggest bowl they offer and filled it to the brim. The food is delicious and if you are looking for a quick lunch absolutely recommended. I was pleasantly surprised by the choices. They have a lot to offer including, rice, noodles or simply just steamed vegetables. My favourite was the beef and fried seafood. The homemade ice tea is also a 10/10 both the mint lemon as well as mango raspberry. The mint tea is slightly bitter while the mango raspberry tea tasted quite sweet. Other than the fresh food you can also mind all sorts of ramen and...
