I am truly surprised that how this indian Reaturant is number 1 in Innsbruck!! Poor quality of food and most importantly poor customer service and experience. If we need to order or ask for something some staff membes would not come to us, I believe and as I noticed it's beacuse of their poor English skills. One of the orders was chicken Biryani and I must say it was one of the worest that I have ever tried. The most disappointing part when we asked 3 times for the bill and had to wait more than 5 minutes and still no one came to us. After third time we asked one gentleman (he is a chef) and he was talking to one of the customers. I told him after the customer left, we have been waiting for more than 5 minutes for the bill. He was really rude and the way he answered us made me really upset. He said you have to wait this is not your country and we are busy. I literally do not see any relation of his answer to where we come from. It was such a shame!! I told him you don't answer to customer like that. He then said that he doesn't care!! I want to understand what kind of attitude was that and why??!! They even asked us 3 times how do we want to pay and 3 times we said we want to pay cash. The chef (I don't know his name) I guess owner of the reaturant was very very rude to us and apparently one of his staff told me that he fought with other customers before, so huh I am not the first customer he was rude to? I told him very bad customer experience and service and you know what he replied?! He said I don't care and he said he doesn't care if he loses customers. Such a shame and uneducated human. That was my first and certainly last visit. I would never ever go back to this restaurant due to the chef who is such a rude, uneducated and unmannered person and due to quality of food as well. He doesn't know that I live in the Europe (Netherlands) and I know in and out of European culture, and he had no right to say to someone that you are not in your country. Zero food, zero customer service and experience. The owner so called chef needs to take proper customer service and experience training, otherwise he will truly start...
Read moreAn Indian restaurant to absolutely avoid . The real Indian cuisine is absolutely not respected, the dishes float in oil with almost no piece of meat. For example, a chicken curry contains only 2 or 3 very small pieces of chicken. It is hilarious to see that the chicken is minced, never seen in an Indian curry. The worst is the chicken tikka, a usual chicken tikka from North India, it is pieces of red chicken and not yellow, the dishes bathed in a sea of oily vegetables, in order to hide the chicken. All the curries are absolutely mediocre, I have never eaten an Indian restaurant of this type in Europe. Really, we see that the restaurant charges us dishes at 12.90€ with no piece of meat, we only pay for the sauce, the rice and the spices, it's theft, they become to fool the locals, but the true connoisseurs of Indian cuisine or Indian customers see the culinary flaws in this restaurant. Because majority of negative customer reviews are probably from Indian customer , which know the real Indian food , not like in this restaurant. The service is ready, we arrived at 8 p.m. and we finished at 10 p.m. In this restaurant, I had the impression of eating an Indian restaurant in the local way, only to attract the locals with dishes having no authentic North Indian flavor, having real pieces of meat and a very strong taste . I was provided by the good rating of this restaurant, or it is really not worth the note it has, absolutely not. unfortunately , we can’t put a 0 to this horrible restaurant . it doesn't even deserve a star .Really avoid this restaurant, it's really disgusting, prefer the other Indian restaurants in town or in the neighborhood, which have more taste and more quantity. In the end we paid 100€ for a disgusting and mediocre tasteless meal.
I suggest you do not eat at this restaurant. I beg the owner to understand this review without any over-vulgarization...
Read moreUnacceptable Experience at New India Restaurant - April 19, 2025
We live is Switzerland, We visited New India Restaurant in Innsbruck on Saturday, April 19, 2025, as a family of three.
Our order included water, mango lassi, vegetarian tandoori, lamb rogan josh, chili paneer, chicken tandoori, and naans.
We waited 45 minutes, and not even water was served during this time. Eventually, my 16-year-old son politely asked a server in German about the delay. The lady server then checked and realized our order slip was lost and never placed.
We were still calm and went to the counter to understand what had happened. At that point, a man with tattoos (possibly a staff member or manager) approached us aggressively and shouted abusive language at us, without any provocation. His behavior was rude, loud, and filled with profanity. We were shocked and humiliated--as were others in the restaurant.
This is absolutely unacceptable, regardless of how busy the restaurant is or what weekend it is. No customer deserves to be treated like this, especially in a hospitality setting. It's clear some individuals in this restaurant should not be in the service industry.
I am sharing this experience publicly to warn others about the kind of treatment you may receive here. We were subjected to verbal abuse and negligence--and that should never happen in any decent...
