Burdock Punch&Cocktails — Restaurant in Salzburg

Mixology at its finest! What a delightful bar/cafe. We just stumbled upon it while walking back to our nearby hotel. Well laid out, comfortable chairs, interesting decor.

There is quite an extensive cocktail menu along with a very decent section of whisky, gin, vodka, brandy, cognac, rum So you can feel comfortable with any of these.

However, the staff here are mixologists. They will ask you what you prefer to drink along with the why. The discuss if you like sweet, sour, herbal, etc. From this they will concoct a little something just for you. They then ask you your opinion. Want another round? You can have them tweak your custom drink or take you in another direction.

They have a very nice food menu. Very well done selections of small plates with some oriental directions.

I decide to visit this place based on a google review, and one comment said, "this was the best cocktail bar in Europe." I must say I do second it, as the staff will go beyond and make some customized cocktails for you with your preference, so you do not need to stick with the menu. Staff came and asked about our tastes, likes/ dislikes, and they bought a surprise cocktail for my girlfriend and me. I have never tasted such a good cocktail in any other place. Also, they were told if we do not like any taste, just tell them so they could mix and match again. I'm glad I trusted and let them make a surprise drink as it was the best. The way they have presented the glass was pretty cool too. Thank you very much, and wishing you success. If I ever revisit Salzburg, I would come and visit again....

Was at this place couple of weeks ago and I must say I am not sure how it got these reviews I see here. The place stinks of mold and it pierced my nose when I opened the door. I am not sure how people enjoy drinks in there but definetely not a good start.

Second part and what I consider to be the worst was the staff. As it was freezing cold, my group of 6 decided to enter a bit further in the bar just to get warmer and passed the waiting checkpoint by 20 cm. As a result one of the waiters just showed us the checkpoint in a rude manner without even saying hello and then left. We just left after that.

Considering the smell of mold, I am not sure drinks would be enjoyable anyway. Sorry but I really did have a bad experience. Never...
