I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Taj Mahal Restaurant in Salzburg, and I must say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely superb, and the staff went above and beyond to make our evening memorable.
First and foremost, the food at Taj Mahal was exquisite. Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor and prepared with utmost care. The authentic Indian flavors transported us to a culinary paradise, and we savored every bite. The menu offered a wide variety of options, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences.
What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist. From the moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed and well taken care of. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu and helped us navigate through the various dishes. Their recommendations were spot on, and they made sure we had a delightful dining experience.
I would like to extend a special appreciation to the owner, Bhushan ji, who personally took the time to interact with the guests. He was incredibly friendly and approachable, going the extra mile to ensure everyone felt comfortable and satisfied. Not only did he ensure the smooth running of the restaurant, but he also shared valuable insights about the local area and recommended nearby places to visit. His personalized touch made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the Taj Mahal Restaurant in Salzburg. The combination of exquisite food, helpful staff, and the friendly owner, Bhushan ji, creates a truly remarkable dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or simply looking for an exceptional meal, Taj Mahal is the place to go. I will definitely be returning and can't wait to explore more of their...
Read moreThis is an absolutely fantastic place if you are wanting authentic Indian food with fantastic staff and atmosphere. While it can get annoying having young children from other customers running around the restaurant screaming, I can’t fault the restaurant 100% for that.
The wait time is long unless you have reservations, but even without reservations it is worth the wait. This restaurant does it right: including rice that comes with meals and free tap water are two large perks for this European location. It seems foreign to have to pay for rice and water at an Indian restaurant in the states, but it is the norm in Europe. Thankfully the prices are also somewhat reasonable for the dishes (11-14 euros for a main dish and ~2.50 euros for a naan).
The food is exceptional. Perfectly spiced (not too spicy) and brimming with flavor that send your tastebuds on a rollercoaster. Pure enjoyment while eating this food! Their chicken tikka is wonderful, the chicken perfectly cooked and the curry light, yet thick and potent enough to go INTO the chicken and flavor the entire pieces.
The paneer was pretty good. It felt a little bit too crumbly compared to other paneer (maybe wasn’t fried enough) but it was still delicious.
Their channa masala was also very tasty with the chickpeas just hard enough that you have to use your teeth to chew, but soft enough that some mashed pieces give the gravy a little more viscous consistency.
Naan might’ve been the best naan that I have ever had to date. Amazingly light, airy, fluffy, and buttery enough that I could’ve eaten it on its own and rated this place 5 stars.
Overall, come to this place. Absolutely wonderful and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and treat...
Read moreUpon entering this restaurant, you first notice the masala spice smell radiating out onto the street. If I'm being honest, the outside had the tacky mismatched lights, so I wasn't expecting much. Was expecting a tiled, fluorescent-lit fast food joint. I was pleasantly surprised when you open the door, the dimly lit ambiance that takes you over. I'm from an American born Indian from Los Angeles, and I've never seen a more homely, and beautifully authentic decorated restaurant. I loved the soft Bollywood/Hindi songs playing in the background.
On to the service and food. Service was a tad slow, but I was okay with it. The food was DELICIOUS and so AFFORDABLE! The pakoras, butter chicken, and garlic naan were SO tasty and delicious. The mango lassi wasn't that great and was slightly disappointed by that. The owner went around introducing himself to everyone.
**ONE FAIR WARNING: your clothes WILL smell like Indian spices/food afterwards, so be forewarned!! We went to a Mozart concert afterwards and could smell the food on our clothes. But don't let that deter you!
**Also we got lucky to be seated without reservation. Otherwise it's...
