Habesha is an interesting place as a reviewer. It's a mixed bag in many ways. There's no dearth of authenticity. On the one hand, there was a strong smell of incense (which I didn't mind one bit), and on the other hand, right next to our table were hung pieces of clothing of presumably the staff - nothing wrong with that, just that it left me feeling a bit funny. There's no shortage of charm either. When we settled there for dinner around 7:30pm, the owners/proprietors were having their dinner, and we even saw the man feeding the woman - all very charming indeed! But we actually had to interrupt their moment to request them to take our order. Again, I found that a bit disconcerting. Enough faff, let's come to the food. The shiro wat was hands down brilliant. So were some other veggies. The tea was on point too. The injera was slightly disappointing, as it was not as soft and fluffy as I would have liked, plus I would've certainly liked my injera to be a bit more sour. I was tempted to give it 3 stars, but everything said and done I do think the staff are lovely and...
Read moreHidden gem - Me and my partner went here one night as we were checked in just across the road and we have always quite enjoyed ethiopian food and the quality of service and effort. We have a few ethiopian restaurants where we come from in West Yorkshire. We came while they were having a party as seemingly the only customers yet they were very welcoming offering us an all you can eat buffet for €25 each. Very hospitable very professional and the food was very good. We are vegetarians and ethiopian cuisine has always worked well for us. I would also recommend the honey wine. At this point in our trip having set off from home by bicycle and travelled numerous european cities by bicycle in france, switzerland, germany netherlands and this was one of the best places we ate on this two week rad tour. Good service good food good people. If im in Salzburg again I...

The food? Absolutely outstanding. We tasted the cuisine first time. Each dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. The injera was perfectly tangy and soft, and the variety of stews and vegetables were rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying.
The atmosphere of the restaurant tied it all together—cozy, vibrant, and inviting, with beautiful music and decor that made us feel transported. It’s a perfect spot for both newcomers to Ethiopian cuisine and longtime fans.
Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a memorable, delicious, and culturally rich dining experience. We’ll...
