I arrived at this cafe around 9.15pm on a Sunday, not realizing that most kitchens in SZG close by this time or earlier. But one of the employees got up from his evening tea with his colleagues to serve me. He told me that he's a student and put in the effort to communicate with me in English, having had a friendly demeanour, and offered to make me a burger despite the kitchen being closed. I appreciated the offer but was craving more middle eastern style food. Sadly he didn't have ingredients to make shish tawook (chicken skewers), which would have been amazing. Read moreOur recent visit to Salzach Deli & Café was disappointing. Despite the café not being overly busy, we waited nearly an hour for two cold dishes. Unfortunately, one of these dishes featured two eggs that were so excessively salted they were inedible.
On a positive note, the coffees arrived quickly and were quite good. The young waiter who served us was sweet but clearly inexperienced and lacked proper guidance from the owner, who was present but not attentive to staff or customer needs.
