Have been patronizing this shop a few times now, and while the level of spiciness is definitely toned down for the local tastebuds/tolerance, the food is pretty flavourful as to an authentic chinese cuisine you can get in a chinese restaurant.
Our usual go-to are 水煮鱼 (fish cooked in water) and 辣子鸡 (Spicy diced chicken). If you haven't really tried Asian food, you might find them stronger in flavor, and that's mainly because the food in DACH areas are general bland to start with (directed at the review saying the food is salty). I also do note that there is a buffet option, which I have yet to try. Ala-carte dishes are still more worthwhile with a limited tummy capacity. #QualityOverQuantity
The service is friendly, and of course, that could be because communication wasn't a problem for us in Mandarin. Albeit that, with a bit of tolerance on both sides, I'm sure the dining experience here isn't going to be an issue.
Nice to note was that this is a family-owned restaurant, and it certainly felt homey. Eating a food that was cooked in a nice family style does bring a taste of home for me.
For what it is on a foreign land, it's good for me, and I'm sure it...
Read moreChose this restaurant because it was close to our hotel, and didn't think it will be this great! We were a bit late and missed the lunch-buffet (11:30-14:00), but the waitress said that the lunch menu (11:30-14:30) was still an option. Lunch menu offers a main dish with a spicy soup or spring rolls. The prices of the lunch menu are much cheaper than the prices of the same dishes in the ordinary menu. We ordered Beef with onions / Rindfleish mit Zwiebeln (9.8€) and Cispy duck / Knusprige Ente (10.8€). Both chose Vegetable Spring rolls / Frühlingsrolle (one portion - 3 rolls) over the spicy soup. My sister absolutely loved the duck. I couldn't stop eating the crispy and fresh spring rolls while waiting for the beef, they were fantastic! The beef with onions was legendary! I couldn't finish all the onions, as they were a bit strong (I love them, while my stomach doesn't). The meat was tender, juicy, the sauce was a great addition. We enjoyed every bit of the dishes and will be happy to come back to this...
Read moreI always disliked Asian food places as a fusion restaurant as a South East Asian. This place is not. Delicious food. Fairly priced for the portion and taste of the food I got. And the food was served really quick (10 minutes from order) on a relatively not so busy time. I didn't expect a somewhat big portion (given my experience from some Asian restaurants here.) A single dish (accompanied with a bowl of rice) is enough for two people (if ordered with an extra bowl of rice.) I got myself Sichuan beef and beef tripe dishes. The meat is quite chewy and delicious. (I can still get a more chili and spicy version of it if I asked for it, given it is a Sichuan dish.) Employees here are friendly and quite accommodating. All in all, the best Chinese restaurant I ever tried...
