We visited this amazing restaurant that serves mind blowing food long back in September 2019, and were equally bowled over by the food both the times. We did interact with the owner Sunny, who is also the chef, and he was a gem of a person to talk to. I had called him in advance as we had wanted "Pure Jain food" and Sunny was very courteous and helpful in this regard. I had promised him I shall write a review then, but wasn’t able to do, till now. So, would like to apologize to Sunny and the staff too for this delay. We liked the food so much that, after visiting this place on Saturday, we were just compelled to go back on Tuesday too.
The major reason for me to go to this place was Jain food, so my review is more focused on the food, but everything else apart from food, like décor, service was brilliant too. The ambience is worth mentioning here. They have decorated the hotel with nice interesting pieces of art, a good collection.
We have tried a paneer curry, dal makhani, rice, tandoori naan here. All dishes came with a bit of rice. The best part was all the dishes were made authentically "Indian" way, that is spiced and tasty (of course on request though). What's puzzling was, all these dishes were made so good, despite us requesting for pure Jain for all, which means no onion, garlic or potato in any of the food. This is what I would say was "Mumbai" standard good north Indian Jain food, quite comparable to the best like Shiv Sagar etc.
So, tourists, especially Indian tourists or anyone craving for a nice Indian meal after a long day out visiting sights in Salzburg, look no further than Bella...
Read moreI ate here on Saturday with five friends after finding the restaurant on Google Maps. The reviews were solid, and we were intrigued by the fact that both Italian and Pakistani dishes were served.
Between the six of us we had two pizzas, a pasta dish, and three Pakistani dishes (one of which was vegetarian). And to a letter, everyone at our table was positively delighted with the food. My own Murgh Tikka Masala was well composed and excellently seasoned. The vegetables retained texture and individual flavors. The sauce was pleasantly spicy but still subtle, and the chicken was moist and well seasoned. Pakistani dishes come with free rice and naan. The servers were exceptionally hospitable and are reasonably fluent in English. English language menus are available as well, although as someone with mere rudimentary German skills, I could navigate the German language menu just fine.
Seriously, if you're a visitor, do yourself a favor. Get away from all that overpriced nonsense in the City Center and venture a few blocks outside the throngs of tourists to have a fantastic, reasonably priced meal in a comfortable setting. Having had an opportunity to chat with the servers a bit, the owners are making a real effort to provide quality food to their neighborhood and to their patrons, and they're succeeding handsomely at it. Proprietors like this deserve...
Read moreOne place that serves both Italian and Indian food. When we came in, we were left standing at the entrance before anyone came to seat is even though there was only one table occupied. Food was okay (the taste must have been adapted to local palate), portions were a bit small for the price and service wasn't great. They got my husband's order wrong and insisted it was what he ordered. We asked them to bring it the ticket and when they looked at the ticket again, the waitress realized she made a mistake, but that if we wanted it corrected it would take another 15-20 mins for him to get his food. She was pretty rude about it and didn't apologize for her mistake. We also ordered 2 orders of naan and only one came out. We told her that we think we ordered 2 orders and she automatically said no we did not. Fine we told her we wanted another order. She then came back with the second order and told us that we did order it, again no apologies for her mistake... Sigh... Mediocre food,...
