Worst experience ever. I asked if they had an espresso tonic — they said yes, even offered to make a double. I paid by card, tipped on top, and waited. They brought me just a plain double espresso. I told them it wasn’t my order, they mumbled something and walked off. No one followed up, the staff just chatted and ignored me.
When I asked again, the barista finally told me they don’t even have espresso tonic on the menu! So why lie in the first place? She then offered to make an iced latte using the same cold espresso — not a fresh drink. I told her I don’t drink milk, and just wanted what I actually ordered.
They refused to give a refund. I asked for cash back (since I paid with a business card and didn’t want the refund taxed), but the server didn’t understand and refused, claiming the money was already refunded — it wasn’t. I showed her, and she just shrugged. No apology, no accountability.
I was treated like I made up the whole thing. No basic service standards, no professionalism. In any decent place, you’d at least get your money back and maybe even a croissant or coffee as an apology. Not here. Absolutely do...
Read moreThis Offerl concession has been in a ‘pop-up’ situation for a few years now. Maybe it’s time to make it permanent? The customer service is always friendly and efficient which is in line with the Neubaugasse merchant ethic. The bread is good, especially if you like the jaw-breaking German varieties ;-). Just as pricey as Joseph Brot and Paremi but if you’re a fan of processed carbs, you’ll have little to regret. Bypass the coffee. I get my bread here then cycle/walk to ‘Kaffeefabrik’ MariaHilf for the coffee hit.
The Offerl Bistro at Landstraße has some genuinely friendly servers. Tip: the seasonal soups have not disappointed yet. The Landstraße branch also has generous outdoor seating area which is just fab especially for summer time people watching if...

I visited the Offerl café near St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and the whole vibe was minimalist yet welcoming. They specialize in organic sourdough breads, and that’s exactly what I came for.
I used to be all about sweet breads — chocolate, whipped cream, the works. But now? I’m firmly in my chewy, crusty bread era. ciabatta, baguettes, and anything sourdough. I took mine hotel and had it for breakfast with olive oil and balsamic — and it was perfect. Lightly tangy with just the right chew.
You can taste the quality here. Definitely a bakery worth visiting if you’re into real bread, not the fluffy factory...
