Vienna's Best Kept Secret? ✨ A Night Above the City at Aroura Rooftop Bar! Hey, foodies and fellow travellers! If you're looking for an unforgettable night out in Vienna, I think I've found the perfect spot. Last night, we ascended to the 16th floor to visit the Aroura Rooftop Bar, and let me tell you, it was pure magic! 🌃 From the moment you step out of the lift, you're greeted by the most breathtaking, panoramic views of Wien. Seeing the city lights twinkle from that high up is an experience in itself, creating the most sophisticated and romantic ambiance. We decided to go for their Seasonal Culinary Harmony menu, and honestly, it's a fantastic deal. For €89 per person, you get a stunning three-course meal with three perfectly paired signature cocktails. Considering the quality and the usual cost of cocktails alone in a place this chic, it’s an absolute steal! The food? Simply divine. Each dish was a work of art, blending delicate umami flavours with bold Mediterranean notes. From the beautifully presented scallops to the perfectly cooked steak and the dreamy cheesecake, every bite was a flavour explosion. The cocktails weren't just an afterthought either; they genuinely elevated each course, creating a truly harmonious dining journey. What truly tied the whole experience together was the service. It was absolutely impeccable. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely looked after all evening. Now, let's talk price. Our final bill, including a generous tip, came to €220. Yes, it's a splurge and definitely on the expensive side, but for the quality of the food, the creative cocktails, the five-star service, and that million-dollar view, it was worth every single penny. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a whole experience. So, if you're celebrating a special occasion or just want to treat yourself to a night of pure indulgence, I can't recommend Aroura Rooftop Bar enough. It's a 10/10 from me! #ArouraRooftop #ViennaFoodie #Wien #ViennaNightlife #RooftopBar #CocktailBar #FineDiningVienna #TravelAustria #FoodBlogger #LuxuryTravel #ViennaEats...
Read moreFirst of all, you'll already wait to be seated an uncomfortable amount of time even if you have a reservation and even if there are only a few other guests to be served. The waitress even saw us waiting and still did not really seem to bother.
Staff might then offer you very limited seating options (indoor/outdoor) due to "numerous reservations" they are expecting - the bar was basically empty at arrival and did not fill up further upon our departure.
When we finally ordered first round of drinks, the waitress took away our menues which I already find a bit odd in a cocktail bar considering you'd most probably get another (different) drink. Also, at a price tag of 18€ for a cocktail, I'd usually expect at least a carafe of tab water on the side, maybe even a small bowl of snacks. I wouldn't have had the chance to order it afterwards either because no waiter was to be seen for the next 40 minutes. Even after our drinks were finished, noone bothered to ask us for another round for at least half an hour. We decided to leave. Considering that the ratio staff to customer was probably still like 1:2 at this time, I don't really understand how its even possible to be this ignorant and neglectant.
2 stars for the view and the atmosphere though. Cocktail was decent as...
Read moreWe had a reservation for 2 people at 8 pm. We arrived on time. We then had to wait for rougly 6 minutes at the "please wait to be seated sign" before any server even noticed us. After being seated it took more than 20 (!) minutes for our (very simple) order to be taken. We ordered one bottle of wine and the chocolate cake. The bottle arrived shortly after, accommpanied by two dirty wine glasses. We asked for new ones. The waiter then looked through the glasses he had and all of them were dirty, which then led to him having to clean new ones for us. Although "cleaning" would be an overstatement. He never dried the glasses. After setting the wet (!) glasses on our table he intented on decanting and pouring the wine. We then interrupted him and at least shook the water out of the glasses. He then failed to get the cork out of the bottle multiple times (Which is the only thing that could be overlooked, but grave mistakes in that frequency are unacceptable. Especially in this price range.) The chocolate cake was tiny for the price, but that is to be expected. After that the evening was quite enjoyable. The view and atmosphere were nice. But this can hardly turn this review...
